updated pb so

I tried to delete wolf & wolf's folder then install wolf, patch 2.60, patch 2.60b, update pb by pbsetup, no effect. Full admin rights on pc. No spyware. Just clean pc.

i think monster put pb on 1 times / week to cough cheaters but i think he put off after 1 day so dont worry

frodo i agree and disagree with youre opinion. pb aint bad because it takes most of cheaters but i dont like pb because i like doing it myself

when i'm not there pb may be active. but wehn its on i dont complain. but now i totaly HATE pb. i just formatted pc and new graphiccard. i install ET and patches 1.02,2.60 and 2.60b i start ET and connect to ps5. it says i have to enable pb, i do this and when i click 'yes' to enable pb my ET freezes. everytime i want to enable pb it freezes, i cant join almost any of the servers of PS except ps2 but it still says i'm banned from that server :s

Yes, i have the same, et get freezed when trying to enable pb -.- I already send email to EB for one good answer "why my game is crashing cause of pb". For now no answer. I'll post it here when its done.

You sure? I was trying that many times but it won't help. I tried to connect any other server with your suggestion but no effect. After update it connects but after 5 seconds on server i have crash. When i try to start the game after "crash-after-connect", then game crash on start. I hope moderators won't delete topic because when the problem will be fixed i'll post FAQ about this malicious trouble. Then everybody can play on PB servers

But one time i remember i just installed FEAR Combar (pb protected) then ET just won't work.

How and when do you enable PB?
Do you enable it with the /pb_cl_enable command or the 'play online' > enable punkbuster method?

And do you try to enable it right after you start a blank ET?

You could also try the following method, see if it makes any difference;

1. download pbsetup.exe from Click Here
2. first delete or rename the old pb-directory and create a new one in which you copy the downloaded setup file.
3. start pbsetup.exe, follow the instructions and download a completely new pb-software.
4. connect to an updated server (just any of the PS servers), and you will receive a new PBNS.DAT from that server.
5. done!

It's hard when you can't even start the game

I'll try & edit post.

Deleted ET, deleted everything except maps in .pk3, installed ET, patch v2.60, patch v2.60b, deleted pb folder, updated pb with pbsetup.exe. Then, i tried connect to PS#2, i see "PB needs to be active". So i type "pb_cl_enable" in console. Crash. I tried enable pb from "play online". Crash. Then i deleted profile & tried enable pb in start of game (when making profile). Crash. That is the great PB what finding & banning cheater.

whoops sorry wasnt clear enough I think, what I ment with a blank ET was;

- (re)start your pc
- start ET (just start it, DON'T connect to any server)
- enter /pb_cl_enable
- close down ET and start it up again
- check with /pb_ver if its enabled
- connect to a server

When I look at your screenshot I notice that you miss a couple of files in your PB folder
(or maybe I have some unused files that pb didnt remove automatically

)

btw how big is you pb folder? in mb's

If you want I can upload my pb folder see if that works :wink:

Ok, how it look: I deleted Wolfenstein folder. Installed ET. No any more patches. Game started as normal. I made a profile, enabled pb (NO CRASH!), then restarted game to see if the game don't crash at startup. Don't crash so. I decided to install patch v2.60. Then what? Game crash at startup

I'll check this:

Code: Select all: Install the game. Do not install any patches. Set PB to active, then, update it. Now you can install patch.

Don't work! Cause after PB update, but no installing patches, game crashing at start :party:

Hmm very strange, maybe 1 of the 2 patches are corrupt but then you wont be able to run them at all I suppose.

Well I uploaded my 'pb' folder;

PB folder backup
[right mouse > save as]

Its around 10mb

Try to connect to PS1 after you replaced that folder.

What kind of software is also active at your pc besides ET?
Did you install any new (memory consuming) programs like firewalls, antivirus software etc. just recently?

I PROMISE I'LL TORTURE BASTARD WHO MADE PB! Now working! Game just starting! Plz add what players should do to fix that at FAQ. So, there is easy way:
1. Delete Wolf:ET & everything in folder except maps, if you want.
2. Install clear game.
3. Start the game, make profile & enable PB
4. Restart the game & turn it off then.
5. Install patch v2.60
6. Install patch v2.60b
7. Delete PB folder
8. Update pb by pbsetup.exe
9. Download a pbcl.dll file from prime-squadron.com/final/pb, then replace original with downloaded. pbcl.dll file is in Wolfenstein/pb folder.
10. Be happy & play more than u can on PS servers

Add this to FAQ plz. (you can modify these instructions as well of course

)
As you see, the best is Prime-Squadron, PS have the best everything, even FILES too (pbcl.dll

) !
