Long Warmup but only short time to chat after map ends?
Hi all,
i like the server but I hate the long warmup time (more then 60 sec). In this time all try to poison you with the needles and you get dizzy - no good start for a map...
Then when a map is over it makes sense to discuss the success or failure but for this the 5 or 6 seconds are to short!
what do other people think about this?

agree....
few weeks ago u could say.. "ok, let it at 60 seconds for icy"
but for normal computers 30 sec are enough to connect completely.
little time should stay.. often admins shuffle in that time and player perhaps chose other class because of other team...
the time after map.. well some want to discuss, some want to play on....
so owner can decide that or do a poll about it.--
or..
a) landser sets time after map to 15 - 20 sec..
b) u talk about map in next warmup time

sometimes you lose - sometimes the others win
I agree, 60 seconds is to long and you got nothing to do in warmup.
Maybe you could get an cup of coffee but I don't recommend coffee
close to computer hardware
I think it would be nice to make warmup 40 seconds, 30 seconds to
connect for a normal pc. and 10 seconds left to relax yourself.
And the 8 seconds or something to discuss success/failure is indeed
to short I think 15 seconds would be enough to type an average sentence
to show your opinion.
Well thats my opinion... so not very important I guess

I see the countdown from 62 or 61 (depending on map). Is it possible that a machine is able to run ET fine when it needs more than half of a minute to start it up?
I am running it on a Mac
Thank you very much!

Good Idea. So you can change to another class and make a selfkill to show all the others your class. Otherwise it can happen that there is no Engi but 5 Medics...

60 sec need ?
lol if i join server it takes bout 10 sec and iam in also if the next map is loading.
as u know, not all got a new computer which is running well, so its fine like it is now i guess
"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death.
I am very disappointed with that attitude.
I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

Yeah, I got to tell you people I used to play ET on 2 computers.
One on an Pentium 4 Intel Inside and one on AMD 64 athlon
guess which I prefer? It's the Pentium 4 intel inside... which connects faster with ET got mostly no lag at all and got great mouse and keyboard..
Well... the AMD 64 athlon is my parents computer so they download ALOT
of music probably downloaded some trojans and stuff, so that computer
is probably lethally damaged.
Im now only playing on the Pentium 4, because the AMD 64 athlon takes like 70 seconds to connect even more then the old warmup time... a shame...
