I do want to help .
I think we should do it like this:
1. Set a date for the event (weekend, preferably sunday). +Set a time
2. Ask a couple of good trickjumpers if they can be there, so we have some people who can instruct/ give tips/ attract other players
3. Think about suitable maps (Gamma or original map jumps, icejumps etc, and maybe discuss this with certain TJ'ers.)
4. Promote the event on the homepage and in the forum section PS #7: discussion
5. When the event has started, connect to other ps servers to promote the event and try to get some people to PS# 7.
I think it would work well like this . In this way it is more a TJ day, instead of a competition.

Hey guys,
We took it up within the event committee. We propose Sunday 17 July for the TJ introduction. I will try to sent the promotion stuff at latest on 1 July, so if there are 4 or more instructors available on 17 July we will take that date, otherwise we will plan a new date.
For the starting time we propose 12:00 GMT, we will see how late it becomes.
We will take care of in-game promotion at the servers and promotion on the site: an advertisement on the homepage, and a more extended topic, probably in the announcement section. For that I want also include a nice description of trick jumping. Can one of you write that? If one of you have a awesome screenshot available, I may add that to the extended topic.
If you want to help with instructing and giving tips to newcomers, post that in this topic. The server has 22 slots, let's say 1 instructor on 3 players = 6 instructors. Instructors will get the !iwant command which teleports a player to you. The !goto command is available for everyone (except for -1 and lower )
If that is preferred, the number of slots can be extended.
About maps, I would ask you to propose suitable maps for beginners.
Regards,
Egglaf

-mr men
-gamma mill
-tutorial tj
-quakejump
Let me add to this:
Chocojump (Jumppads for axis)
LNA Trickjump
If Gamma mill - No Mr.Men
Heaven and Hell (maybe)
This map where you got much stages, and in the end secure gold crates
Ikkigammas
I will try to write some instruction, whereby I will use parts of deep his instruction, and include some information about standard TJ settings/binds.

DMG_Kowi wrote:@egglaf There were some tutorials posted on PS7 forum. I can be instructor on basic jumps I think.
@Smadje Why not mr.men & mill? Mr.men is purely basic, it's flat, so it is easy to coordinate. On mill u have ladders and so on, plus many additional jumps (behind portals).
Allright, thank you Smad and Kowi, for both of you and for others: If you want to help, which we surely appreciate, make sure you are available on the proposed date (17 July)
With instructors I mean 6 all day, so if don't stop saying it if you want to help if there already 6 instructors on the list.
I can be instructor if needed.

Also wanted to say (to OP mostly) that competition in TJ is boring and useless for this community to host. There are not enough trickjumpers in here to have a successfully fun contest that suits for every participant, and getting people from pro TJ clans just to look at them is like... Why us? Why here?

True. Most of us are too low in tj and distances between levels of skills are too huge to make reasonable (even) competition. For example there is no point in race (who is the fastest to pass few sets of jumps) if there are for example 2 guys who can do it easily and 10 guys who can't even complete 1st set.
-Mr.Men
-gamma mill
-tutorial tj
-quakejump
-Chocojump (Jumppads for axis)
-LNA Trickjump
-Ikkigammas
These are the maps which you selected for the TJ Intro. Do you want to change or add something? Else this will become the map-pool.
About the adminlevels you will get for the event; Warren will be there on Sunday to give you the levels. Maybe he will be there on Saturday too. I will ask him to post about it here. And don't forget to put a |instr| tag on.
Have a nice day Sunday, I will sure take a look.
