Welcome PS#Fun&Obj - decision about maps
So here we go with the new "mix" Server born out of ps3 and ps5
the shrubbot is already merged, the settings are a few from every cfg.
It all went nice so far, lets begin to improve.
Before we clean also the forum section a bit i want to start with the poll for all regular players:
Do you want a map rotation based by players suggestions or just a map-voting system out of a specified mappool?
As long the poll is running (7 days) we keep mapvoting enabled

sometimes you lose - sometimes the others win
Ninjadeer wrote:fixed rotation could be better from some points of view, though it causes bit more work for owners. but if sebby has some time to think those maps im fine with that as i wont have much time in next 3 months, ofc after that i wont have anything else than time
well, we are now a bit more manpower so editing an existing rotation should be doable .... more ever since stephan told he will come back to 24/7 online status for PS#Fun&Obj

I am NOT for maprotation or bigger map pool when it comes to mapvoting. Keep the mapvoting and if possible please put on the counter when the map was played last time.
Just this mean that nobody is able to affect on which maps are on the server when it comes to mapvoting?

dunno if you mean these:
set g_mapVoteFlags 49
set g_minMapAge 8
as i understand there should be already kinda counter ON, but as i said it works like it works... if it works...
thx for diamond
mapvoting prooved on PS5 that it does more damage then good, first makes people disconnect when not map of their choice, second it gets to people spaming main chat with "please vote this, pls vote that" , a third it is hard to play obj if you dont know 60% of maps.
Rotation of 10-12 maps with some 8 old known maps and with 4 new maps should do just fine.
And maybe put smaller maps instead of 6 players cant find each other on map.
Reduce slots on 22+6 private or it can only be another PS1.

imo map voting is the best way to keep ppl on server cause they choose map which they want to play..
but we must check maplist to elimnate similar maps (same map with another mod)
like its now with oasis ori and winter edit... and set more awaiting time (min. 3-4maps) for return to map vote list for map which we played last time

Yeah I talked something about the minimum map age as well, it was too low back then when I noticed. But well I did not find a CVAR for that it could show those which map was voted what time ago. Need to ask...

once at ps5 i reduced mapage that there were only 5 to vote out of 20.
it was nice to "force" to play almost every map except a few ... but the negative points about complaining and cry to vote a specific map were staying.. and new maps hardly had chance to be played...
but atm it looks more like rotation is coming..

imo map voting with more maps wont do what u expect. If there are cortex, pirates, cluedo and many more non standard maps, it still has no chance to win with marrakech or supply. Players like maps where they know what to do and can show their full power

mapcounting didnt work because there were too much map on servers..
