Why Dell? You pay yo much for worse parts. Your CPU is a Q6600 from Intel. Why'd you bought a 8800GTX? 450 euro, buy a 2x 8800GT for 200 euro and you'll have better performance, dhe 8800GTX is 15 months old and End Of Life, also the new cards are coming (less power consumption, more performances) And why a Quad Core? Dual core is same in games, quad core is only nice for videocoding... Software doesn't support 2 cores, so 4 is more terrible.

As last: with a Dell upgrades in future aren't so width, my suggestion: next time build your own pc

Further 300 FPS is a bit low for a 'high' end graphics card (I think you've a 20" screen?) My graphiccard (which cost 39 euro) has 150 - 200 FPS all the time.
[/offtopic]

Some critical points just to help ;) Nice pc and have fun with it.

wow, im pretty yealous you all people got nice computers.
I got 3 year old pc and the other one 4 years old.

When I got enough money for new pc then this is my wish-list :) :

Intel Core 2 Duo E850
Asus P5K-E
Asus GeForce 8800GT-512MB (2x)
Seagate 7200.10 500GB, (2x)
2048 Twin2x DDR2 C4 6400

(that graphic card can hold with the game "crysis" 38,4 fps on
1280x1024 resolution, insane  ; that game is a killermachine.)

You can also take 2x HD3870, better in stock only a bit more slow.

DUAL GPU's are not good. I have made research, and a single card GTX is much better than GTS. The dual cards are only good if the game supports SLI. By the way 2 cards use way more power than 1.

My screen is 22 inches widescreen.

Quad core is very good for the future, vista OS is good at using all 4 cores. Games as crysis will run awesome when they get a patch who can utilize the quad core.

I've seen benchmarks for quad core and dual core, they both have their positive sides and negative. And I didn't want to wait untill the new GPU come from nVidida. It'll be much more expensive too.

Lol you probably read the dutch magazine: PC Gameplay then. :D
besides that is my wish-list not my budget/stock list ^^, and those ATI HD3870's are pretty nice; but what do you think of the ATI HD3850? :)

ammz you have damm right. :D

My pc

q6600@ 3ghz, 8)
8800gtx....
and 2g ram is enough.

why dual core when you can have a quad for the same price :?:

and the future go to multicore.

The software and games in the future supp. more multicore.

2core is

1 core windows/linux/firewall/antivir/etc and 1 core game.

i can codec video hear music and play at the same time and no probs.

and ammz very nice pc :P

edit: a dx10 gpu is a littel bit slower as a dx9 gpu under dx9 games.

Nice machines...

I've got me a Mac Pro:
2 x Dual Core Woodcrest Xeon 2.0Ghz
2 x Seagate 250GB on RAID-0
4gb 667mhz FB-DIMM Ram
Awful 7300GT Graphics :x

I'm going to stick a 8800GT in there soon since the graphics is a major bottleneck... ET doesn't even register on the CPU meter :)

Then maybe later I'll buy a couple of quad 3Ghz Cloverfield Xeons when they come down in price a bit and another 4GB ram, this thing is gonna be a beast!

But only if you wanna use that much money ;)

Ammz, I would but graphics cards for my system have to have an EFI compatible ROM to work properly. (Normal cards only work in Windows because it's BIOS based, and that's only sometimes!)

I could wait until a 9 series card is released for my system but I'm just not enough of a serious gamer to bother really :)

Even this 7300GT is almost sufficient if I overclock the pants off it :D
