Iam happy with this headset gives u also a great sound 7.1 dolby surround.
i got it now a year and dont want any other headset anymore.
perhaps its expensive here in holland cost now 83 euro's (or bit more)
but with the price you get something great as return.
The g35 is indeed a really nice headset, razer ones behind logitech are extremely good.
I had an occasion at a friend's shop and i bought this:
Despite I didn't trusted really much roccat products I have to say that this one is really good to me.

I use exactly same and it is really good. And it is also good for listening music, love that bass booster (Ok my soundcard helps a bit).
There are many good choices but if you want semi good headset then take normal headset which doesn't have surround but has good guality or then good headset, 5.1 or 7.1 only for your taste. If you don't know what to choose try to find some comparisons or reviews of some products. I would rather take something which isn't USB cause many has problem with them.

Your soundcard doesn't help. The Medusa NX has a built-in soundcard if you use the USB slot

Actually my soundcard helps and I tried it out. The USB cable gives only power for the headset, nothing else. But if you have USB version of this headset then the things are different.
And my soundcard is Creat1ve Fatal1ty Champion Series. With it's software I could change almost everything for my headset, volumes and stuff.

But ditryharry just last advice. If you want good headset you may need to pay some extra money. Maybe around 50e-100e you will find pretty good headset already.
