[NON ET] Help: Linux + WoW

Postby PinkRabbit » Tue Jul 15, 2008 17:34

Hey guys,
currectly I'm running windows xp to play ET on but I came up with a nice idea to try to multibox with wow. Ifc my pc can't handle >1 WoW running at the same time so I need to try this on my bro's pc...
Unfurtunatly he is running Linux and not windows...

I installed my basic WoW from the 5 CD's with wine and then upgraded it again, with wine. Then I runned 2 patches (again with wine) and my World Of Warcraft is up-to-date. but I never launched it

Now I just copy'ed the folder from my wine hardisk to my desktop.
I tried to launch WoW and then my problem started, it gave an error..

So now I have an up-to-date WoW folder on my Linux desktop and wine installed but when I launch wow.exe it still gives an error...

Anybody who had the same problem or someone who also runs on linux can offer me some help?
For the linux runners but non wow players, just launching a game with wine in linux..

I also am able to run a virtual windows xp on my linux with Sun software but then it will take to much of my pc and I won't be able to run 5 WoWs at the same time anymore :D

Thank you in advance!

P!nk > what kind of error ? (I don't have crappy WoW to test by myself  )

/me like forum's post of people asking for help about an error, but who don't give the error message.. only useless information :P
