Write to console com_hunkmegs and look what is the value of that variable. If you have min 512MB change it to 192 (from 100? 56(default)?). Also com_soundmegs change to 32 (from 24?).
Sum Up:
com_hunkmegs - change to 128 OR 192
com_soundmegs - change to 32 OR leave 24
Sum Up:
com_hunkmegs - change to 128 OR 192
com_soundmegs - change to 32 OR leave 24

some ppl assuem you need halv of your memory in to it. not true!
you can only go as far as your memory go.
and maps only need certain amount of hunkmegs.
never saw a map with hunkmegs 512
so you do fine with 256.more the maps of today dont need.
i have 2gig ram memory
