using trickjump for obj

Postby BOWDOWN » Tue Oct 10, 2006 15:19

Ok, this morning we had a dude in PS1 using trickjump for obj, many peeps call me to kick him, but i wasn realy sure about using trickjump, so tell me if we tolerate this or no, and definitvely :using trickjump for obj is allowed or not?, cuz there is different opinions about it between admins.

Gracias mucho

I always thought and act accordingly that trick jump to gain objective is allowed, but strongly discouraged. :?

But, when it is not allowed, it is a difficult rule to obtain, cause:

One:
When is someone using tj for objective?
Is it when someone is tj in Fueljump just to frag, not to place dyno?
Is it when someone in Oasis tj over wall and blows up one objective?
Is it when someone in Transmitter uses tj to push down the ladder, so he can get obj?
Etc. etc.

Second:
It's just hard to see when playing yourself if someone is using tj ...

(Maybe ...just a little thought ...is it an idea to disable double jump on some maps? )

Grtz,

Ja you r righ vid, it s hard to c when u playing ur self but if you are realy sure that a dude used tj to destroy obj, in this case what to do, warn?kick? ...
I think disable dj it s not realy a good solution, if tj is allowed so there is no problem, if not maybe we have to add it to rulebook and begin to warn and kick peeps doing this, to give exemple to other players.

I believe that TJ for objective is allowed.

Example: When in fuel dump the engineer TJ to get over the wall into the base and plant the dyno while the tank is way behind at the bridge. That should be allowed because it's axis fault that they don't protect their fuel dump.

Same with Oasis they should protect it...

I dont agree with that!
And I will !gib everyone who doublejumps or trickjumps at fuel or oasis (when i see it).

Simple reason cause it messes up te gameplay and ruins it for the rest of the players.
Trickjumping isnt a standard feature of ET, okay doublejump is standard in
Pub but it shouldnt be used to complete the objective.

edit;
lower dj at oasis and fuel seems like a good solution :P

a note on transmitter u can still reach the handle without using the double jump so there i dont see the problem :)

but indeed like u guys said DJ can be pain in the ass  (:P but teams need to defend i think)

Agree with Warren. Dj at walls in fuel could be but if u dont plant dyno. Its fun with dj but the game is ruined when its used for obj.

Thx mates for ur answers and opinions, but as u can c, we r not still agree with what we have to do in front of such a situation, to provide conflicts and problems, we have to decide definyvely about it, why not with a kind of vote's question. I will vote against Tj cuz for me it can realy shit da game (for sure only when it used for obj).

This is still TJ goth.
And I wanted to say TJ on Fuel and Oasis can be made without DJ. You need only training and that's all.

why should u make a diffrence between medic, cvops, fdops AND engi

u making it hell confusing, just say TJ not allowed by any unit (problem solved)

Trickjump is allowed...

1: it rocks
2: as defender you can take notice of trickjumpers and protect your obj against them
3: it rocks
4: making a ladder isnt trickjumping
5: it rocks
6: if DJ is lowered and you still manage to pwn by Trickjumping you earn it to win the map.
7: it rocks
8: if you wouldnt allow TJ, then bunnyhopping shouldnt be allowed either (winning baserace by pwning everyone with bunnyhopping) (bunnyhopping really is awsomely difficult on flatground when DJ is lowered so rather useless for travelling long distances)
9: it rocks
10: omg, then disable DJ at all
11: it rocks
12: its a rule used on flameguards and since most of you came from there... you think it isnt allowed here either, but it is
13: it rocks
14: at the beginning of PS it was decided that TJ is allowed, so it still is as there isnt decided differently and there isnt going to be decided differently
15: it rocks
16: if you see me trickjumping, gib me, i dont care, ill do it again
17: it rocks
18: ... why do you even wonder if TJ is allowed
19: it rocks
20: still does
