Punkbuster O/S Exception Notice

Postby icefrost » Mon Aug 03, 2009 22:47

Hi,

i got a problem when i tryed to play at PS #7 today, my console got after 1 minute spammed with this message: Punkbuster O/S Exception Notice. i had a look at evenbalance and there was explained to try pb_security 0, but didn't work for me. after another 1-2 minutes i just get kicked from the server.

also found a old topic about it, but there isn't rly a solution in it:

>>This one<<

maybe someone can bring light in the dark? i also allready manually updated PB around 5 times after that, still didn't work. i didn't change anything, only thing what happend is that i was playing at Bunker 4, but i doubt its cuz of playing there but ye who knows.

thx

found this from some site:

The Operating System (O/S) Exception notice is from a conflict with PunkBuster and some software or hardware on your system such as out-dated or none existing Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) drivers.

* Update Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) drivers for your motherboard.
* Close all programs on your system, including messengers and anti-virus and then start the game.
* If you do not get the message you can start turning programs back on.
* If you still do, check for driver and firmware updates for your hardware, especially Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) drivers, as they seem to cause the most issues.
* Defragment your hard drive
* Complete Example #1 (Manually update PunkBuster)
* Reboot Personal Computer

basically do hardware/software updates
