No servers available whilst logging in at workplace

Hi all,

Because of timedifference i wanna log in at workplace in lunchbreak to join and gain more experience and play when server is nice and full.
however i wont see any servers available to connect too , so my question, can i somehow work my way around it as my laptop is preconnected with this internet and settings.

At home, no problem connecting whatsoever!

What does it say if you write /connect 178.63.72.111:27960 in console? Can you connect to the server with that cmd, or does it tell you something like "Avaiting connection/gamestate... [seconds]"?

Does your workplace have some restrictions for browsing? Like you can't access certain sites (games/gambling/alcohol/porn/anything fun)?

Correct.

when i connect to the server (by typing in 178.63.72.111:27960) it will say Awaiting connection...

facebook is accessible, havent tried porn yet

it prob has restrictions, but i am trying to see if there is a way around it, wanna play more

So probably some port and/or protocol restrictions as you said.

I guess in theory it might be possible to bypass those with VPN or some other tunneling technique. Basically making the firewall think that you are browsing internet as you use ports that are allowed. Unfortunately can't help with the details. There is also a good guestion whether your company approves such actions or not (probably not), if they somehow find out.

Other option might be sharing wifi from your mobile phone, if you are able to connect other than your workplaces network. Then again depending on your service provider this might be a bit too expensive. Based on the first message, I guess this really isn't possible anyhow.
