Video Card Problem with ET

Postby ITA_Wildwolf » Wed Dec 10, 2008 18:58

I've bought an Acer Laptop with Windows Vista pre-installed. I study electronic and so i need to use some particular programs that run only under windows XP. But Acer, in the support site, let only download windows vista driver
So i started to download every single driver, and to setup yhe video card i used the catalyst 8.11 modded with Mobility Modder .NET cause it's impossibile to find the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 driver for XP. It's all perfect but when I try to play ET, the console show me an error

have u read FAQ maybe it helps

How to fix OpenGL errors?

Your computer doesn’t have OpenGL compatible drivers (for your graphics card) installed. This normally occurs when the standard windows drivers are used.

How to fix it?
Go to the website of your Graphics Card manufacturer and download the newest drivers for your videocard.
ATI owners - http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html
Nvidia owners - http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

This error can also occur if you have a wrong video mode selected for your system (monitor). For instance a too high resolution of 1600x1024 may not work depending on your monitor and/or graphics card.

Afaik, there is only one "Catalyst Center" for all ATI Cards. Additionally, there´s one for mobile cards.

Maybe you should give this a try?
(The version is just from today, 10th dec ;) )

Maybe this forum helps a bit: http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversio ... 31671.html
Although the person is searching a driver for Mac OS someone posted a solution for Win XP. Look at the post from Dyaus (Dec 7 2008, 08:07 PM). I hope it will help you.
