I really doubt punkbuster would use a virus in their applications. Sure they might use highly intrusive methods of busting punks (eliminating cheaters) but if a virus was involved, dont you think someone with a little more experience in coding would have discovered that in the long time PB has been around? I think Kaspersky is just allergic to the ways PB works.

The best way to completely eliminate a virus (if there is one) is to format your hdd (and any other hdd's active in your computer), reinstall windows and ET along with Kaspersky. If it is still reported as a virus then its safe to say Kaspersky is being a little bit too paranoid about PB which means you can ignore its "threat". You could always use an online scanner or any other antivirus, but a clean format would completely remove any traces of a virus.

meh its just the fact that PB loads as any other virus and scans whole PC.
Just allow pnkbstrb.exe to do what it wants and problem solved :?

Pal there is no need to worry, The fact is that Punkbuster will scan your computer for such codes which can ruin the whole point of a game. Kaspersky can be a tad on the sensitive side, and therefor picks up that Punkbuster wanting to scan your PC. Just allow it and set it to always allow.

If you still wish to have such high security yet play the game in peace, I recommend you get NOD32

But the problem you have at the moment is nothing to fear about :) Just tweak your Kaspersky settings a bit.

Anymore problems be sure to share :)

from what i can tell its just the proactive function of kaspersky, what means kaspersky is just guession because of the behaviour of punkbuster. it also states "suspicious" driver and NOT found virus. its all there.
