Heya, i got new pc and i have problem at beginning
Today i installed ET, with both patches, configs and my etkey. I run ET, created new profil. I clicked "ENABlE PUNKBUSTER" and my PC stopped working. I had to exit it by Tasks Menager in windows. Then, i run ET second time - this time Intro lasts 1 second - then it stopped. I had to do the same what above. Ok, I deleted pb folder, updated it. The same. After kliking ENABLE PUNKBUSTER ET broke down. I don't know what to do... I know 1 thing - yesterday, when man, who made my PC was configuring my internet connection, he realized that my provider recognise me by my "internet card" (integrated with motherboard). So he coludn't connect with internet. So he took my old PC, wrote down his ID and copied it... That's whole story...

Bah... with disabled PB i tried to connect to PS2 - "You are banned from this server", PS3 works fine, it started downloading PS3 files. But i can only use non-pb servers... PLEASE help me im ETTV fan and im watching matches...

Plis nobody tell me "maybe u cheated" - answer is NO!
Im playing WarRock and everything works fine... damn et...

FAQ was updated after that topic;

· NOTHING WORKS - I can’t enable PB or PB causes Freezes!

I can’t enable PB
After you (re)-installed Enemy Territory and the two patches; 2.60 & 2.60b there is a possibility that you can’t enable PB anymore, resulting in Program Errors for ET.exe.

To fix this problem try the following installation procedure;
· Install ET
· Start the game, make a new profile & enable PB
· Install the patches; 2.60 & 2.60b
· Delete your pb folder and download & run pbsetup.exe
· Download this pbcl.dll file and replace it with the old file in your pb folder

Ehh... the same. I did the same way as in ur quote. The same error. Of course, i can enable PB, but after patches, pb update and replacing that file is the same error. Now when im conecting by xfire - freeze "awaiting gamestate", but if im lunching et by xfire (only start) the same error with intro...

Bah... i forgot to tell something. I have openSUSE and WinXp, and i can't run ET on windows (not tested on linux), now im reading about similar problems, but... on linux

Maybe it causes fact, that i have new Graphic Card (nVidia GeFroce 8800GTX) and maybe there aren't good drivers yet...?

1. Load drievrs for ur Graphic card.
2. Search for Linux version of ET (if U use windows, search for PROPER installation file)
3. Search for installation guide from internet. There must be atleast one.

1. Guy told me "Gefroce series 8 is new GPU, so curently may be some problems"
2. I want win version (im using xfire); i've downloaded files (et, 2.60, 2.60b) 3 time, each time from other source

4. Not me installed linux... i'm newbie in it, man who make my pc did it.

You tried some older drivers?
If the new drivers give problems try to switch to older (earlier) drivers and see if it helps

@2. Linux has Xfire like too, but it hasnt got in-came monitor (When playing U cant see messages in small pop-up) Hmmm.. I add that Xfire (or aka Gfire) to my guide on techzone xD

Ok, problem fixed. I just installed the newest drivers for my graphic card. Now everyting works fine. I suggest to add it to FAQ - to option can't enable PB/PB causes freezes! - install new graphic drivers.
