Summer Event: 3vs3 Cup + Fun Activities! - August 4th & 5th

Hello, fellow players! :hyper:

We bring you a new event next weekend, A.K.A. on Saturday and Sunday. :wink:

This means it will be on August the 4th and 5th from 19:00 - 22:00 GMT +2!

The first part of the event is on Saturday and consists of a 3vs3 ETPro StopWatch tournament!
If you don't know, this is what StopWatch is:

In Stopwatch mode, teams must accomplish the objectives in the shortest possible time. At the end of a round the teams will switch.
The team that was defending will now attack and must now beat their opponents' time from the previous round. Team-switching is not allowed in Stopwatch mode.

The tournament will be played on a dedicated server set up for ETPro StopWatch and a second server is set up with ETTV so you all can watch:

Connecting to the tournament server requires a password, which every participant and reserve will be PM'ed!
The following tables will let you know which maps are included, what the teams are, and when the different teams will be playing.

The second part of the event is on Sunday and consists of some Fun Activities! :hyper:

19:00 LMS - PS Frag v2, Monkey Island & King of the Hill
19:20 Gun mode - Madbunker & Millenium Falcon
19:40 HS mode - Valhalla & ET Headshot 2
20:00 Sniper War - Sniper Gigant & UJE Kitchen Sniper
20:20 LMS - Purefrag, Desert Duel & PacMan
20:40 Shotgun War - King of the Hill & ET_Tower

These fun activites will of course be held on our main server, PS#1: 178.63.72.111:27960. :wink:

THANKS FOR COMING TO THE EVENT!!!

Now, I know there were some things about the whole ordeal that needs fixing.
So far, these are the following things people have brought up:

The ETPro tournament was too short!!
Aye, and I heard it was 50min long. It was supposed to last 2 hours ...
Next time I suggest it'll be a best out of 3 scenario between the teams. :wink:

Yeah ... I know. Next time grenades will be disabled for both LMS and HS mode.

Grenades are ok in LMS just not in HS mod

- I loved the sniper maps this time around. While the kitchen had cabinets, it never felt like you could camp near any of them.
- While I did win both gun modes and shouldn't be complaining, I don't think millenium is a good map for it. I hate where allies spawn and open maps are hard to win with mortar. The first map was fine though.
- I don't really enjoy the map where you can modify the battlegrounds and then jump into the hole to fight, with or without nades. The first HS mode map was fine, although the spawns were a little too open.
- Too much LMS, too little panzering.

It was super nice, thank you for organizing cow! My two cents:

- MORE LMS :drool:

- Gun mode needs instant respawn (wasnt in the 2nd map)
- Shotgun mode needs unlimited stamina for running
- Great choice of maps! But I agree with golden, the narrow arena thing for hs mode was kinda crappy
- Hs mode ( <3 ) shouldn't have nade & knive damage

Also a general request: Could we maybe add a cmd to enable hsmode on the normal server? It would be a nice change to kill some time when playing against bots if noone is around

The etpro event was fine overall: everyone showed up and we even had afterparty 6v6

we should definitely do this more often.
And now we know average map lasts like 5min, so we can use regular 3v3 config and rules in the future events (2 maps per game instead of 1 and, choosing maps on the spot etc.). Also no one used ETTV but that's fine I guess.

Hey, this sounds like a blast, too bad I didn't get the chance to participate. So who won? I think a graphic showing the final brackets would have been an easy thing to do and sums up the whole event.

Also, do you guys practice etpro often? Is the scene alive? I've seen some skilled players in the server. I used to play back in my days and wouldn't mind to play for fun every now and then.

This was the first ETPro event we've done in a very long time.
And yeah, next time we'll make some kind of graphic to display the results and such, thanks.

But if people are interested, we can of course host ETPro-themed events more frequently. :wink:

I believe the winners were BigOgr, Bumble and Polaris, as in team 4.

No wonder those 3 won, such a skilled trio, specially Polaris, very talented player.

I'm definitely looking forward to more events like that, and I hope more people do too. :mrgreen:
