Botwar but admin places himself on bots
Hi guys,
I've seen a behavour where server has voted for botwar. We are all having good fun. After a while a high admin joins and put himself with the bots. No asking, no second vote, just put himself at the bot side. It happened just now for instance. And Im sure their excuses are valid sometimes....like the teams were not even or whatever. But it doesnt make up for not voting about it just because one have a higher level then the rest playing.

I also see now that the server died... from 4-5 players (6 with the admin in question), to now 2. Even the admin in question dissapeared....
And I also see that they redid botwar... so i guess ill be joining again.
Is there such a thing as level demotion?

Re: Botwar but admin places himself on bots
It was a botwar, where one team consisted entirely of bots and the other team of players?
If this is the case, this really isn't admin abuse. Unless, of course, he kicked the bots without a passed vote first.
But seeing as how (based on what you've said) he didn't, I fail to see how this is admin abuse, sorry.
Zoid, although it may seem like a "douche-move" to do this and disrupt the botwar ...
There isn't a rule (that I know of, at least) that prohibits any member/admin/HA from putting themselves on the "bot-team".
One could argue that such a rule should exist, seeing as how the consequences could be emptying of the server (like it was this time around).
Well anyway, you can wait for the person in question to post as well, but if he only put himself and nothing else: not admin abuse.

Hair-splitting and semantics in my opinion. Putting bots in one team is interpreted by most as playing bot vs humans.
If it is only considered a "douche-move" at this point, then perhaps it should be a rule not to be a douche while playing.

I could agree with Zoid on this one, if you actually vote for botwar and vote passed and all the people agree and play it, why there would always be someone 'special' who needs to do the opposite and mindf.ck rest of us. And there is a difference between playing bot's in both team with few players in bot team, and bot war - when all bot's are in different team. This particular thing that keep's happening is why I suggested to try reduce and/or disable bot's for some trial period.
Re: Botwar but admin places himself on bots
Just to be clear, I couldn't care less if someone will play with us on the same team, in opposite team with bots or on other server. And even I'm fed up of this shit bots and botwar. It's matter of respect. Only that. "Only" .
Re: Botwar but admin places himself on bots
thanks for bringing this issue up, zoid
botwar means uneven teams. 5 humans vs 15 bots for instance. i can understand that it seems like adminabuse for some people if an admin joins the bot side since only admins can join a team with more people / bots in it. but since the objective of botwar is uneven teams, it is no admin abuse - even not against the rules. but this could be handled better.
i am also pro human vs human, but if the majority of players want botwar and the vote passed - or botwar is already in progress: respect the current gamestyle.
in the future: if you want to join the botside or disable bots:
plz make a poll first and respect its outcome.
i think, everybody can agree on that?
EDIT: was the admin confronted on the server? i mean: was he asked to change the team? i am sure he would have done so.

Yup. Seems fair Lands. =)
Often I see a very reasonable crowd and once there are 6 humans online. Usually someone ask "normal next map" and people agree... finishing the map with botwar and then it will be normal. If anyone dont want to play human vs human, they simply leave when map ends. Everyone happy. Change made peaceful and respectfully. At least I havnt seen any example of other behavior this side of the new year.
