My school is popular now.... in a bad way.

Postby Sard » Fri Feb 12, 2010 0:50

Ok today at school, there was a huuuuge fight between the students and police because of a racist prob.

For frenchys, this is the article :
http://www.cyberpresse.ca/actualites/quebec-canada/justice-et-faits-divers/201002/11/01-948709-affrontement-entre-des-eleves-et-des-policiers-a-laval.php

For ppl who doesnt understand french, ill just make a quick translation since i haven't found any english version of this article.

It goes this way...
__________________________________________________________________
At least 200 students defied policemen in addition of throwing them rocks and pieces of ice.

No one was hurt.

We have to go back to Tuesday to know what started this.

Apperantly, rumors of fights between two groups of students of the school attracted the police near the school. Three students got interrogated by the policemen in three police car.

Since the police car were getting shaked a little, police were forced to call reinforcments. Since then, police keep a close eye on the school in case of other conflicts.

The situation got worst today when a student got closer to a car to give it a kick. The police then arrested him.

Other students then got together and started protesting by throwing rocks and pieces of ice. Some police men were hit by them.

The students and the police men were now against each other infront of the school. Alot of students on one side of the street and as much of police, helmet and their weapon on them, on the other side.

Everything came back to normal around 14h15.

Several students interviewed on the spot says that apperantly, it is a conflict of nature between two racial groups. And the situation could be worst later. ''There is a small war in school St-Maxime between quebecers and arabs. the following weeks will be dangerous. The tension grows and there will be big shit around here'' , says a young man who didn't want to be identified.

Insane school, don't you think? :p
FYI, I wasn't part of the students fighting, i was watching close by.

They'll surrender. The french always surrender :P

So how does the situation look inside the school? Like on hallways? Can you walk normal without the danger of getting your ass kicked by some idiots?

Nah, that ain't revolution - it is just stupid ppl breaking the law. There is fundamental difference I suppose. And "let you live in interesting times" is, in some cultures, a way of wishing someone bad :-) I'd prefer to live in an "uninteresting" country :-) I didn't know that they've had emigration problems in Canada, but I am somehow disappointed by world's condition in which people choose to live in a country and fail to adhere to rules (social, cultural etc) imposed by that very country they have unforcedly chosen to live in. It is not that Canadians went to their homeland, right?

@ everyone :

-Today, we have had 27 fights between quebecers and arabs GUYS in the school only.
-Today, 14 fights between quebecers and arabs GIRLS in the school.
-Today, not only our school, but 3 other schools came near the pizza place to do another fight, but police was everywhere, so they came for nothing.
-Today, almost no one was on main hallways, except for the classes.

Freaking Scary Day .
And the news vans were waiting for action so they could film it!
And when i say 3 other schools came to our school, i mean that there were more then 500 students that came from 4 different schools all around the pizza place.
And it was freaking hard getting a damn pizza to eat xD

@ Kitek: Don't worry, if you come to Canada, you won't be disturbed by idiot teens :)

@ flow: Well , I got hurt! I got 2 scratches on my right arm! :P

@ golden: aaa school shootings, we had a debate in our class on the chances we would have one :P

@Sard: I think we need an explanation about things that are happening there: what are they really fighting for? who 'started' the fight in your opinion? what is the root cause of all this?

I would reaaaally love to answer u! But i do not know what the hell happened
between them. :S

Some people says its racism. It's a possible cause since quebecers keep saying ''go back to your country'' or ''F*** Arabs!'' or more.

Other people says its a personnal problem... Insults to their family , gf, friends, idk.

I asked like 5 billions students to know why all of this is happening, and no one is really sure........

What i know is that this racism was there for years.. So it's most probably racism that is the cause.

And for who started all this... it's the students in general xd

That's interesting. I've never been in Canada myself but I imagined that it is rather tolerant and peaceful country with no eimgration problem whatsoever. So, in my opinion, there are two possible explanations. Either Canada is not like I thought it was, or emigrants there do not try to respect the ways of the country they have chosen to live in (or both).
