I haven't played fifa 12 yet, but i've got it already and just have to install it.
however what i've heard about the defense system it supposivly is really hard to control.

I know that recently fifa > PES, but anyway I'm bored of football games (my first fifa was 97'). My last fifa was 05' (tho, it was very good one) and I had PES 2010 which was ok.
New technologies, gfx, dribbles, updated squads... but 'game' is still the same so it doesn't absorb me anymore

It depends on your gaming style in the previous FIFA games, but for me it was really easy to learn it. It's fun, because a lot of people suck at it, and I win every game with 5-0 or so.

I m an early PES fan but have to admit that this last PES are all fails. Same goes with PES 2012 , best AI ,the gameplay is a bit faster and they add some novelties like the possibilty to control the passer and your player who apeal for the pass but the game is still globaly a fail again, specialy looking to defensive side of the gameplay, it s realy pity to say that but FIFA own PES at the moment and the 2012 version wont change it . Personaly , i have them all but only play on PES 6 with friends .
