Going to Peru!!

Hey guys,

on 27th april I'll go to Peru with a friend for 1 month. We didn't book hotels, and want to sleep in our tent and backpack around Peru.

Has any of you guys ever been to Peru and got some tips for me? Also we want to visit Machu Picchu WITHOUT tour-guide. Has anyone experience with this?

Hehe we gonna do like 1hotel every week so we are pointing on 4 hotelnights during our trip for washing ourselves and clothes

Its a very good way of travel with friends (i did it too few times and i enjoyed it a lot) but i dont even know where Peru is so.. i cant help you

Heya guys,

I'm in an internet cafe now in Puno in Peru and gonna take my 20mins to say I'm still allive and thinking about PS.

Peru is freaking awesome, friendly people, nice landscapes and damn good food. We already did visit Lima, wich is actuelly a very boring city, after that we visited Huacachina. It's an oasis in the desert near to Ica. We slept there in the dessert. Also we did visit the Colca Canyon: Bigger canyon than the Grand Canyon and the 2nd biggest canyon in the world. We did do some trekking there in the mountains, it's was very beautiful but also very exhausting because of my sigaret/beer addiction haha

Also we met alot of new friends and we did smoke some joints and drink some beers with the people we met.

I can keep writing about my experiences but I only have like 5mins internet-time left so need to stop...

I'm not going to read every new topic made in the days I was gone, like I said I haven't enough internet time, but I will read and react on every new topic when I'm back in Belgium.

I hope server is still going good? Please let me come back on a full server

Back in Belgium!!

Peru was mega awesome!! All people were really friendly, good food and beautiful landscapes! I met a lot of new people and drunk a lot of beer haha!
Now gonna take my time to read every new topic and react on it, you will see me tomorrow evening back on server!

Yeah the food in Peru was the best food I ever had in my life!!
We tried Lama and Alpaca meat (with vegetables and herbs I never tried in my life), It was delicious! Also we did eat the Peruvian dish 'Lomo Saltado' a lot of times: The meat of the back of a cow,alpaca or Lama, mixed with paprikas, unions, potatoes(or french fries dipt in some weird sauce).
Also we tried 'ceviche': Raw fish mixed with vegetables and covered with Lemon and citronjuice : Didn't like that plate haha

We did also eat a much of chicken, bisteck, rice and for dessert we always went to some 'torta-bars' where you could eat delicious cakes, pancakes and drink hotchocolate, tea or cafe's.

Most of the time when we were trekking in the mountains we did eat a lot of local food in small villages were just the housewife was cooking for us: so we did tried a lot of different plates and different ingredients but I really don't know the name of it haha

You have also the famous Peruvian dish 'Cuy', or in english Cavia or Guinea-pig. We actually figured out it was really not so common dish in Peru. Also it was very 'expensive' and it was more for the 'richer' people in our opinion so we didn't tried it.

For drinks you had the 'pisco sour' what was really a nice alcoholic drink from Peru. Also I drunk much 'Ron Cartavio': a Peruvian rum wich I did like much! As soda you have always coca cola, fanta, sprite, etc... But you also have 'Inca cola' what looks bright green and tastes like some kind of candy but was very nice to drink.

Yeah the food in Peru was top! :good:

I was in Columbia and Venezuela at May Colombia was nice and safe. We hadn't and trip plan and we booking hostels day after day. Ppl was nice a lot ot tourist there. Recommend Colombia. What about Venezuela is really unsafe place.

All this got me tempting, Lama meat I just had it once in life amazing taste it is. But I had it just grilled no vegetables or herbs.
