IF youre smart you first just /record it ingame;) ( no really low fps or something like that )
then when you got it then run it and then record it with an record program
so you can play at youre max instead of playing 50/50.. because of the lack of fps
Grtz Xavi and i wish you good luck, best tip is take youre time;)

Am I able to encode .dm84 to avi , mpeg or some else video file?

Never use fraps, or other screen record programs!
Imo, first do the movie at least 70%done and then start with trailer. Else there's not much point in it if it's for the movie u know.

Yeah.. I would prefer Sony Vegas if you havent used much of editing progs and if u can get one, cause it may be the simplest of semigood progs. Plus it's perfect for ETmovies, and doesnt need too much memory/processor from your com. ^^

I still want to know that is it able to encome dm84 to avi, mpeg etc?
yes, and you should do that
How?
- Put a bind to your movie.cfg: demo_avifpsF5 "30" -binds F5 key to record with 30 fps, it should be fine for your first project probably.
There's possibilities to do different looking stuff with for example recording demos with 200fps, and then convert them to 30. Makes a motionblur effect to it, that seems to be in "fashion" in ET scene nowdays. Personally I dont mind.
- Then make sure you have high enough resolution r_mode 8 seems to be minium nowdays also.
Or make it custom(wide).
- While you record (with F5 now), your demo seems lagging alot. That's ok. Just take your clip and then press F1 to stop rec(it's default).
- Your game has now made lots of screenshots to your drive:/path/enemyt/mod/screenshots folder.
- Now you need some program that makes avies/compressing, and has ability to convert screenshots to video file also. I prefer virtualdub OR Megui. (personally using vdub)
then just "open video file" from vdub, and select the first screenshot0001.tga from screenshots folder. And it picks them all. then you can resize the project (min 800x600) and check that the fps is same that u put to your cfg, like 30 this time. Cause for me it's not that by default. Then "Save as .avi" and it takes a while to render.
Take care. (sry about confusions, typed fast ^^)
example for those settings: http://www.prime-squadron.com/modules.p ... pic&t=5160
Take care!

this tutorial is pretty good, gives you an overview of the method.
http://xfire.be/?x=tutorial&mode=item&id=29
mind you, he uses 720p (hdtv at 1280x720), so you might want to start with lower resolutions, as these are quite hard to compress at good quality. he also captures at 200fps and downgrades to 30 with motion blur. like tempy says, i wouldn't bother with that yet (requires huge hd space also). but the general method (cl_avidemo/vdub/megui compression) is good.
i personally use a custom resolution - sample scene from some current work (dl it, dont stream it) - at around 1280 widescreen and i resize them in vdub when making the raw avi from the tga's. capturing at high res and downsizing them will give you a quality boost. also make sure you capture in windowed mode.
another note, these guides are mostly for etpro, not for nq but it should be translateable.
try and capture a few seconds and adjust the method til you're happy with the quality and config.
some more links:
website dedicated to gaming movies, has some nice tutorials: http://own-age.com
and a good x264 compression guide: http://toxik.cacheflo.ws/x264/guide.html - i followed this when i first compressed avi's at lower resolution (800x600 etc.) and it worked like a dream. higher res will need some different settings though (see the xfire tutorial).
gl and hf, post some samples!

:O.
I've alot of helpers here @ Prime squadron.

Im actually recording both :B?

nice - i never really tried making a movie with nq, made some wallhack avi once, but i just used the standard config.
another tip: install a 2nd et client for movies only - then you can mess around there as much as you want and create a nice movie config. plus some movie config cvars are going to be outside pb ranges, so to avoid all sorts of troubles best keep things separate.
some more tools:
cam trace 3d - scripted cams software, dunno if it works in nq, prolly not.
uv moviemaker - nice set of tools for q3/ET moviemaking, i use it to change the in-game font fe.
