I've strange lags.

Postby Avaddy » Wed Feb 25, 2009 0:23

Heya.

I've problem with my ET. When I'm in the main menu, a cursor is lagging in every few seconds. It's strange, cause I don't think that it's because of my hardware.

My PC:
Intel Core2Duo E4300 1.8GHz@2.9GHz
GeForce 8600GT Sonic+ GDDR3 256/128
MSI P35 NEO-3F
2GB DDR2 Kingston
80GB Seagate SATA2
and Windows Vista Home Premium.

Please, help me. :)

Regards,
Avaddy.

I think a screen will help us further, because I don't get a poop of what you mean. :]

Same as goku said, but if your cursr is lagging even in the main menu of et, then is surely your hardware problem, 'cause you are connected nowere.
Check your ram usage. try to run et WHITOUT any program uder it.

Well, it's impossible to make a screen with this lag. It's just:

Few seconds is good, 1-2 secs lag, few secs is good, 1-2 secs lag. The problem is when I'm in the main menu, server list, options, game...

I'm sorry that I can't explain that better, but my english isn't good. :|

I've hope that you will understand me. :)

/Edit:
#UP
Memory usage is less than 30%, I don't have any programs opened except Wolfenstein. I've the latest nVidia drivers, other games (like Crysis, Call of Duty 2/4/5 or Counter Strike) are working properly.

And it doesn't matter what settings I have (I've tried the lowest settings and 800x600 and I've tried 1600x1200 and full details).

/Edit2:
#DOWN
Hehe, game is lagging too, not only cursor, but it look strange. Even sound in main-menu is lagging with cursor.

Did you recently change to Vista?

Did you install new software/updates just before the lags started?

Have you checked your pc for viruses/malware/spyware?

I've installed Vista about 2 weeks ago, my computer has a great protection - I don't have any viruses or other threats. No, I've just installed Wolfenstein (about 3-4 days ago) and when I ran the game - it was lagging.

But... When I run ET and click on MODS -> Noquarter, I have these lags in menu, but lags don't exist in-game. Humm... Dunno what's the problem.

As you said yourself, you turned to Vista. The thing is, I think, that you have to update your drivers.. ;)

You should do a search on 'affinity' in this forum;

It might be related to your problem.
