Demos - Requested feature was omitted at compile time

I can't look demos, when it finished loading map then it kicks me out of ET and gives red error : Requested feature was omitted at compile time

Can anyone help me? warren? :>

You only have this problem while watching demo's?

How many pk3's do you have in your etmain (and no quarter) folder?
Try cleaning up as much as possible and try watching those demo's again.

If you're compiling your own maps it is but that probably isn't the case here.

Edit: Hmm okay, there seem to be some crappy maps out there causing this problem (you'd think they check their stuff before they throw it online..). You don't have the map beachwarbeta2.pk3 in your etmain folder do you?

343 pk3 files in etmain folder ^^
73 pk3 files in nq folder

that could be ur problem right there iirc wen et crashes just at the end of loading a map there is sommit wrong with the map pk3 or the pk3 is missing (most of the demo load crashes are due to u not havin the map in the first place)

if map's description and icon is show during the loading time, then this map is in etmain.

Then you probably reached ET's limit.
At least try to get those pk3's in etmain under 300 or even 200 by deleting them or moving them into a back-up folder.

You only get that error while watching demo's because the game tries to load those 343 + 73 pk3's at once, whereas the (pure NQ) servers only load the pk3's they need.

Btw, it don't depends on how much PK3 You have but on how many files are in those pk3 together.

But it seems you reached the maximum count of that. I have 285 in etmain + 110 in nq. And 1450 in deleted pk3 directory

everything is important

i found only 53 pk3 files to delete from 343 :S
and found 45 to delete from 73 (lol)

any suggestions what to delete ?

Ye, remove (or better move them to deletedPK3 folder) maps as first, then all z_, s_, zzz_ that's all

but i have now another question.

When i click on Wolfenstein ET logo on my desktop then it opens jaymod but can i set it like it opens NQ when i click on that logo?

Goes without saying of course, pk3's are zipped archives but I personally don't have the time to check the contents of every pk3

In theory the bigger pk3's contain more files, so try to remove those big ones first.
