ET crash while watching others demos
Hey,
i have a little / big problem with demo files.
Every time i want to watch a demo, which wasnt recorded by myself, ET crashes in the first few seconds. Map gets loaded as usual, i see the player - and freeze. The demo stands still and i get a cursor in the middle of the screen (with a hidden window )... Then only a kill via taskmanager helps.
The demos seem to crash always on the same time. I just tested it with this demo. I cant even watch a second until the crash - but i have no problems watching my own demos.
Edit: Here is the error message from the event viewer:
Edit: Oh sorry, got german version of Windows.
Just deleted the whole NoQuarter-Folder, connected to PS2 and tried to view the demo again. But no change at all...
Any ideas?
Thanks...

On what server do you usually play?
The thing is that cgame_mp_x86.dll gets updated/changed everytime you connect to a server with a different NQ version. Since we run NQ 1.2.3 and NQ 1.2.0 servers, this may cause problems.
The demo you referred to was made in PS1, if you haven't been on that server the different (older) cgame_mp_x86.dll apparently causes a problem of some sort.
Check if the file isn't read-only (write protected) either.

Just think of it as a nice little mini-game, like the ones you have in Nintendo Wii and DS games
But yes, Jen's tip is helpful, and most demo's that are posted here include a server nmbr or name anyway.
