Please unban me

Hi!

i was trying to set up a new pc and put my etkey-file into my etmain folder. While connecting server tells me that i'm banned for "no guid". Can you please unban me and tell me how to put my etkey file in correct way?

Yes, there was no etkey file, but i wanted to put my etkey file there which i use on laptop so that i don't lose my xp and so on

You are not in the banlist.
Check if your punkbuster is enabled, if not enable
if yes try to update (using the pbweb.exe in your ET (?) folder)

Ty Pancake. Updating pb lets me connect again to PS#1. But my XP is still 0. Where do i have to put my etkey file and what have i also todo to make it work? Does anybody know this?

I got it in ./etmain as well, maybe try to put it in ./noquorter. It is kind of buggy

Do you got windows or linux. In linux there is more to do with it.

and if you're xp is 0 and keeps riseing, also saves when you reconnect, than you have a new etkey. tell us more about it

I'm currently under linux. I copied the etkey file from my windows xp laptop and currently my xp is lost when i copy my "old" key into the folder. it's not so important at all. if you have another idea, let me know. most important is, that i'm not banned

pb doesnt create new etkey if you are on NON PB server

connect once to some pb server and you will have one

thats the reason, linux!

In windows, multiple users own the same etkey, but in linux, each user has its own. You have to copy the etkey into '~/.etwolf/etmain/etkey' or '/home/user/.etwolf/etmain/etkey' then it wil work. I know that because I have et in linux at all

It does, i have made it myself million times. First time when you connect to server (without etkey) it says you are banned for some random reason (this is some small bug). Then if you hit the reconnect thingy, "the ban" is gone and you got new guid/etkey
