Disagree about 1st part. Was preety good imo. Nice pictures, editing was correct, good characterization and background, many details. Rape scene was actually something new those times in 'A-class' horrors on big screen. Dunno which version you saw, cenzored or not.
Second part ye... dissapointing, terrible actors, lack of atmosphere as it was in 1st part, just stupid scenario. Althou guy drowning in toilet was preety funny
Personally i dont get this fasion for asian horrors. Ok, some of those are good, but majority its uber crap. Camera movements are disaster, many technical mistakes, characterization is poor. (prolly becouse low budget dunno). And... most of them are just...not scary (ok, Hills have eyes arent also, but at least blood and funny story).
And Dawn of the Dead is classic, but ofc oryginal from 1978, from 2004 was kinda weak imo. You cant compare it to HHE. Different classes of movies, different director 'goal'.
But still, Saw is the best, maybe not every part, but Saw I is the unbeatable for me from many views.
If you like more psychologic movies, i recomend Antichrist with William Defoe, preety big...hmmm... suprice. Atmosphere in movie made by simple wind or trees is unbelivable. Title is bit confusing, but one of the best horrors from last years, worth to see.
Oh, and welcome at the forum kriss
Chaos is the only true answer.
