r_mode 6 !!!!

I've tried everything. Me and rainbow have been trying for the past 3 hours to decypher this problem. But we can't. It simply doesn't work.

I need to set a custom resolution. 1680x1050. But it wont work.

As you can see, it is set in the cfg, but if I start et, it wont' work.

I was trying to set r_mode to -1, but it keeps jumping back to 6 if I start et. Any ideas about that?

Here I've already set r_mode back to -1. But If I would start et, I'd go back to 6.

try r_customheight 1050 and r_customwidth 1680 also r_mode to -1 =]

problem is, r_mode is also "reset" after a restart. Its not changed if changed with seta, not if executed a cfg with the content, and if he changes the etconfig.cfg it receive a change behind his back back to 6.

Is it changed in etmain profile and all other nq profiles? What happens if he connect and do vid_restart?

Change profile manually and add read_only attribute to etconfig.cfg in etmain, noquarter and nq folders. Check if it will still reset configs. Sure there is nothing in autoexecs? No config execsthat could change r_mode?

All files checked, all tried and failed. Maybe the writeprotection will do the job.
vid_restart works for him, yes, until the next quit+restart.

Let him to start ET with noquarter, etmain, nq and Kill et.exe process. Maybe ET thinks there was an error and sets default config?

Anyway, what I did, was that I didn't try anything via cmd or anything. Just good old notepad did the trick after a fresh et install.

I finnaly got my res and r_mode -1 working. Now I can get on to the other details.
