No_Guid Problem

Hello Guys,

I have a Problem with Punkbuster... Yesterday i downloaded enemy territory from the splashdamage homepage,patched 2.60 , then 2.60b , updated PB and tried to join your servers.

After Some Minutes i got kicked because of duplicate GUID. (Thats because another one joined without guid, for example my friend Nydiadus)
Then i wrote /pb_myguid in the console and it says that i have NO_GUID.
Some Minutes later i googled and tried /pb_cdkeyreg , doesnt work.
Then i looked into the etmain folder... i have no etkey data.

Things i have tried:

Reinstall ET
Reinstall PB (Deleting and then installing it with the pb setup)
/pb_cdkeyreg

I got Windows xp 32bit sp3.
My friend got Windows 7 and has the same Problem.

Are you sure pb is enabled?

You can check this with /pb_ver

If it's enabled try connecting to a pb enabled server like our PS7 (213.239.219.249:27961) for instance.

Yes Punkbuster is enabled, and i still got a dc because empty cd keys are not allowed.

Punkbuster is on version 2.190 , server version 1.747.

All the PS servers don't have punkbuster except PS#7.
I haven't ubdated My pb yet an i can play fine...

But i need a guid to play on your servers....
Because if 2 people has the same guid the one get kicked...
And i think the exp also saves on the guid... because i have about 800 exp when i join...

Edit: Now i wrote a ticket to PB Team...

Well PB's authorisation service might be down again, just like a couple of weeks ago;

It seems more people were having problems with their key yesterday. I believe /pb_cdkeyreg does the same as connecting to a pb enabled server, so that wouldn't make much difference either, sorry for that :oops:

No, not necessarily, at least not when those 2 don't have any guid at all.

Yes that's correct, and also one of the reasons why we request players without a guid to enable punkbuster/register a key.

But if the service is down there's not a lot you can do.. You don't have an older etkey lying around do you?

Mjah they're not that quick unfortunately.

Do the commands /pb_cdkeyreg and /pb_cdkeyver give any response at all?

And what happens if you ping the server;

- ping etguidauth.evenbalance.com
- ping 192.246.40.62

Mhm Strange im getting 3 answers with about 240ms

I also tried tracert .. about 17 routes.. but on the 18th route the programm closes

PS: Now i tried again /pb_cdgkeyreg
And this came:

CDKey Registration sent to Guid Auth Master ...
Master Query Sent to (Et1.EvenBalance) ...
Recieved Master Security Information ...

But i still got NO_GUID ... also tried to join a PB server

PSS: They answered my ticket and fixxed it... Thanks for your help guys!

Just for the record.
That actually does count for 2 matchable guids on server, resulting in kicking either one. Experienced it on PS 5 2-3 weeks ago on Venice!

I had the same problem as you, I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall ET (expert mode uninstall -> delete all files of Enemy territory -> clear the registry) then I reboot, I reinstalled ET, launched it with et.exe, created my profile (name, connection and i enabled Pb from here) then I installed the 2.60version and it was good =)
