kick (temp ban) without reason

i was playing on ps1 and it was lagging, hard. I said "*beep* lag" which was blocked to "***in lag" and i was auto muted for 60 seconds. During this time one of the -|PS|- members (sorry i forget who) said "behave" to me, so when i was unmuted i said "why does it matter if i say that word? i can say **** all i like cant i?" i wasnt muted or killed because what i typed was ****, but immediately afterwards i was kicked because "i was told to behave"

i swore once, and was muted and killed for it, and so an admin kicks me... that doesnt sound very fair. I dont really mind that much but it just shows up that the admins need to learn whats worth a kick/ban and what isnt. If your server has a temporary ban for ppl who get kicked, dont kick ppl for no reason at all

also if someone could tell me how long the temp ban lasts (or even unban me) i would be grateful

Lightningstrike come to PS3 or 5 those on PS1 bans and kicks people for no reason at all.

So come to PS5 and have fun there we warn mute putteam and then after all that we kick. So we are very fair come and join us and have fun

gentech... it WAS the first time i said *beep* (1st time in a week of playing)

the 2nd time i was saying that saying *beep* was the same as saying ****, in fact i didnt actually say *beep* at all the second time. get your facts straight before you start throwing !kicks around... all i wanted was an apology...

i swore ONCE in 1 week of playing. I agree with the !mute and /kill, but NOT a temporary ban. The word wasnt directed at another player, so there no reason for anyone to take offence. All i was saying was that admins should try and think before they act.

saying **** is considered the same as saying *beep* and getting censored. Everyone knows what you mean and as we dont want you to say it in any way (*beep*/f*ck/fuk/f u c k/etcetc) you ll get muted for it.

Another thing is your behaviour, being a smartass or even trying to out-smart the admins if it is about rules isnt smart. If you get muted for saying *beep*, isnt it clear that you CANNOT say *beep*/**** all you want!?

annoying people get kicked, you were annoying, you got kicked. As you obviously do NOT know what being an admin is all about, you re not in the right place to whine about our behaviour. Gentech and me have been trained by the best, we might seem harsh, but believe me, we arent. And we SURE know what we can and cannot do, regarding rules and commandusage.


short conclusion: i dont think 'we' ow YOU an appoligy, i think its the other way around

lightning its just a kick and when an admin (daemon,borewicz or joky) kick you they will have a good reason. You know you may not curse on the server. ITS JUST A KICK now you know you made a mistake but i always was told
'people learn from their mistakes' just dont let it happen again.

... the reason u get muted and killed for sayin *beep* is that ppl dont c wot u sed, no harm dun. if u want pp to get punished for saying ****, change the settings so that they get killed for that as well. it wasnt me that made a mistake, Gentech misunderstood what i said and thought i swore but w/e im unbanned now so it doesnt matter. Its just that many ppl were swearing and staying on the server, but i was the one to get a temp ban for it. I dont want this thread to be turned into a chance to flame me because if u werent there, u really cant say who was in the right... Ive got nothing against gentech, and i thought i might be able to make a bit of constructive criticism... again im being misunderstood so maybe i should have explained myself more clearly...
if someone gets banned from a server for swearing once and then answering an admin's cheeky (and i understood it as jokey) coment by pointing out that it was actually quite rude and out of place, they wont be hugely keen to come back. I would hope u all agree that the ppl who tk or even hack are a much bigger problem than the ppl who swear once a week. If im wrong about this, ill just change servers because when im getting TK'ed or someone is hacking and i get pissed off about it, i dont want to be the one that gets the ban when i swear about it. Im not in -|PS|- so i understand that i shouldnt be rude to admins (and i was) but a ban for one sentence that was slightly rude isnt right. This argument is just going around in circles so say w/e u want and let this be the end of it. I really cba to type another long post in response to a problem that doesnt even exist any more. Maybe a restriction on flamers on the server tho... (as in the weapon) cos ppl come on and do as much teamdamage as enemy damage with them

I'll be brief

im not rude to admins every time im on, and most admins will agree i have respect.

i was temporarily banned. I had to stop playng because i couldnt go back onto the server. That is a ban. I had no way of knowing how long it was going to last. If a kick has a temporary ban it has the effect of a ban. there is no difference between saying !kick ligtningstrike and !ban lightningstrike 60 except that with the !ban i actually know how long i am banned for. I was having fun on your server and that meant that i didnt play for the rest of the day. I tried to reconnect to the server, and I WAS BANNED BECAUSE OF THE KICK

they have exactly the same effect. When i tried and connect to the server it told me "you have been kicked and are temporarily banned from the server" so I WAS BANNED

the only 2 times i havent shown the utmost respect for admins is when i didnt realise that borewicz was serverowner, and now were cool about that, and now when u were rude to me. Im not sorry for what i said but i am happy to let the matter rest as nothing has come out of it.

i hope next time we meet on the server it will be on better terms

eh, strike(no 'r'), gentech sometimes is a bit eh... well... coming on strong

mwell, what i want to say:

- constructive critisime is appreciated, but in the form you posted it it wasnt seen as it => np, an extra explination like you just posted sgut enough to fix the prob

- swearing cause of getting tk'ed isnt the right way, same goes for noticing hackers, tell us if you re getting tk'ed intentionally or rather often by accident by the same person (bleeding too)(or when the person tk's much overall) and ofcourse report hackers/persons you suspect of hacking

- the kick+tempban is needed, else people that ve got autoreconnect wouldnt read the reason

- being banned for a minute isnt a big deal, just wait a bit and you can reconnect, no need to not play for the entire day

- for so far i can see, this thread wasnt turning into a flame-thread

- it was you that made the mistake at first, swearing is wrong and the serversettings are good enough (i thought i set that you get killed for swearing too... :S gen? changed it?)

- get my name right

- you were out of place and being rude

- i dont mind people staying away that run off after having encountered one minor incedent with admins

- you wont get a kick/ban if you behave, you didnt obviously, so you did get a kick

- people that do wear the tag and think they can be rude to players/fellowmembers/admins get a kick just as easily as players

- i agree with you regarding the flamers, one is more then enough + ill be keeping a closer eye on people that take flamers => too much teamdamage will result in being forced to take another weapon

i was a bit out of line with what i said on the server, but the temp ban doesnt say how long ur banned for, so unless i sit there retrying for however long it takes (it could have been half an hour for all knew...) i cant get back onto the server. I dont think swearing because of a tk is right, but i dont think it deserves a kick temp ban and i do think i might swear every now and then by mistake, but thats what the block/mute/kill is for

yes u do get killed and muted for swearing, maybe u should be killed/muted for saying **** but i dont really think that make smuch sense personally

i didnt swear at anyone and i wasnt rude enough to an admin to deserve a temp ban that for all i knew could have gone on for a long time.

i think the easiest solution is to change the settings so that it says how long u r banned for when u get !kicked

i was punished for swearing by the mute and kill, so i was sufficiently punished for that. The temp ban was simply for talking back to an admin who was a bit rude to me. Maybe i shouldnt have evn posted it but i was very annoyed that i couldnt get back onto the server when i got temp banned. The problem wouldnt hae arisen if when i was !kicked it had said "you have been kicked from the server and temp banned for 60 seconds for [insert reason]" instead of just finding out that i had been temp banned when i tried to reconnect and it not saying how long the temp ban lasted.

im sure u can edit the kick message, and i doubt it would be incredibly difficult to do, but if admins are going to kick for such a small offense, then it is only fair to let the kicked player know how long he has been banned for.

you could scroll back in console to see if you were kicked or banned, if you were kicked, it probably wouldnt take long for you to be able to reconnect again if it s a kick+tempban (i think the standard msg for kicks is related to the standard msg for a ban, if we d change it, it d prolly be long and most people dont even bother to read it neways, ill check)
