Xfire makes ET Crash.

Hi,

I'd like to play ET again, but i've got a problem with Xfire. When I select a server, The game launches and all, but then it gives me that "ET.exe stopped working" generic error. I re-installed both the game and the program, it still bugs. I even tried to reinstall the pb folder as suggested in other topic, and.. well I wouldn't write this topic if it worked right? ^^

Note that i CAN play and access every server I want via the game itself. It only crashes when I try to reach any server via xfire...

What should I do to fix xfire?

I'm on vista 32-bit, as admin if it can help.

yeah play ET as administrator anyway.

And make sure you also have the updates 2.60 and 2.60b installed

hm I'm doing both of those things. When i speced the funwar yesterday I could enter the ETTV server from the game without problem..

But even when I launch the game (no server) via xfire, the game crashes. no message except windows' error dialog, I only get to see this :

Of course i can still browse the server list via the game but it takes more time and all.. I'd like to use xfire like I used it before ^^

Well im nowhere near an expert

But it tells your cfg can't be loaded or is flawed, so have you tried deleting your cfg or checking your cfg to see if you can find any corrupt values?

If you run ET on its own, you run it as administrator right?

But do you run xfire as admin?

I had a similar problem where I didn't startup xfire as an admin. If xfire isn't started as admin, ET will not be run as admin if you start it via xfire.

So try running xfire as admin if you don't now.
