What could be the next online FPS running in PS?

Do you realy think that a poll is realy necessary and anyway what would be its purpose? almost all those who posted here have TF2 as first choice (including me) so the final issue is already clear , plus as told above there is still no serious project about a no ET server on PS but just some discussion to see how you guys deal with the idea. A poll would be run (if ever there is a need) when we will realy be near to start and open a server :wink:

Anyway, my choice is also TF2 for all reason you gave above. What we can already notice from this lil discussion is that the idea is globaly well accepted, which is alreay a good point

And just few words for all those who are scared about the future of ET on PS , we were, are and will remain an ET community. ET is the reason of PS creation and no matter what will happen in future, out first attention will be focused on ET till the end. But personaly i don t see it as a real problem to build up "side" activities in PS. Our available resources are at the moment pretty underemployed, which is realy pity :wink:

I agree with BOWDOWN, TF2 would be a good choise as it to is free. So anyone can get it easy and install it, and start playing.

I did play Team Fortress Classic, like crazy, that was way before ET came around. So I would prefer one server to convert to TF2.

I say that only PS1 is needed as a ET server, the rest can be converted to other games. Besides TF2 i don't know of any other good multiplayer game that is free.

I say that you didn't red previous posts.
There will be no conversions, becouse is no need to do it in first placre, and second it doesn't work like that. Besides PS1 PS has more servers, for you its maybe a crap, and no-ET, but there are still many players who like to play there.

Yeah some reasoning behind gonzo's statement would be nice... (especially since he only played the game for like 30 minutes).

I would like to see more PS members (and regulars) become involved in the game though, as of right now there are only 5 people playing regularly on the PS server (me, toup, spycow, landser and daghel).

TF2 is OK, but not as good as the original Team Fortress. To bad they did a TF2 as cartoon like...

Would be nice to see TF3 now, a updated and improved version of the TF classic thing. But that will probably not go ahead. The best was if we get Enemy Territory 2. Same game more or less, as now but updated graphics and all that.

I have checked out some games on youtube, and the graphics is crazy now. Not that I care that much, as gameplay is more important.

Wonder if splash damage would be interested in that project, can't be that hard for them to use say, portal 2 engien, and just refresh the game and do some more work on it.

Maby I should ask them ?

i ve actually played it more like some days and i cant get in it, it's like capture the flag game and i dont like the cartoon style, the whole game isnt fot me, it looks like star wars battlefront (that actually was nice and had much more obj and stuff inside) we talking here about adding it to a whole community, i dont think it's a good idea in adding it to PS... keep sudgesting games then, and please not games where u need a 2000 â‚¬ NASA computer to be able to play.. think about the young part of community not evrey1 going to school has such a gaming comp

enemy territory 2 would be nice, just change the grafix a bit and maybe let it be japs vs us or some new stuff like this, since the wolfenstein saga had such a big success i cant understand y they didnt keep heading this way.. but well those are the famous IF and WHEN

Well about Enemy Territory 2, there are acutally a few "fans" working on ET Xreal for quite some time, i have no idea where they are at the project now or maybe they've stopped the project.
Also i don't know what system requirements there would be (to lazy to search

)

but if it would come out that would be nice.

For me there's no difference whether if I play ET or ET2. The graphics quality doesn't matter at all. And I doubt that ET2 which is developed by fans would get enough attention to spread further from the W:ET community, because we are the only targeted group (unfortunately decreasing).

What makes TF2 a good choice is that it's completely free to play, it's popular,more variety with classes and teamwork is required. Now if some1 can name a game with similar qualities, then let me know.

I hope people understand that the new game is not 'only' for us who might be bored of playing ET. It's mainly for the new players outside PS to get us more attention. It's for our growth (in the players department). So the popularity of the game is very important as well.

0:29 in the video says: "Free to play." Looks a bit weird to me. xD Have to play it first.

But I don't like TF2 too. Perhaps because I haven't played that long... It just doesn't feel nice to me.
