after months, i can't play again...

Hey all!!!!!!
i stopped to paly et for some month because my PC crashed and for the really little time that i have now, between football and university...
So i was trying to install ET in mine PC portable...
I went in this site to download it:

I installed it.. than i took my old etkey in etmain and i have pasted it in the new folder etmain in my portable PC.
I have pasted all the maps, the old cfg, the PB files, and all the other important things.

When some minutes ago i tried to play after months, connecting in PS1, don't know what it means... but this message compeared.

Error: protocol mismatch between client and server.
The server you attempted to join is running an incompatible version of the game.
You or the server may be running older version of the game.
Press the auto-update button if it appears on the Main Menu Screen. ( it obviously doesn't appear

)
For empty-CD-Key error and / or missing punkbuster files look on: http://ETKEY.ORG

i tried to connect in other random server.. and this allarm message compeared after the count-down during the loading of the maps.

recursive error ' ' after: Game code(ui_mp_x86.dll) failed Pure Server check

don'k know what i have done of bad XD
but i miss et and the PS server

please, someone can help me, the poor Gighen nab?

Also to add to this,
Punkbuster is no longer supporting ET so maybe you can have some problems connecting to the server.

If you get an error, first try /pb_cl_enable and then /reconnect in Console.

ofcourse you need patch 2.60 and 2.60b

let me know if you still can't connect.

I had the same problem, try to rightclick the ET icon and open as administrator and confirm, works for me

Well we all know you , so imo you can just create a new ETkey on etkey.org put it in your etmain folder, connect to PS1, then do /pb_cl_enable and /reconnect if it doesnt allow you to connect and then it should work fine.

Just contact bowdown or some high admin if he can give you your admin levels back.
your XP is gone anyway ^^

PS: do save your old etkey somewhere, just incase

Nope, atleast i (and a lot others i know) have to do /pb_cl_enable
Myself i have to do it almost every time i connect to ps1 or psfun&obj, probably because i play etpro inbetween aswell... gets reseted or smth dunno.

BUUUUUUT!!!! the risolution sucks.... i tryed to apply the old resolution, but when i click apply, it crashes and tell:
GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load Open GL subsystem

old old old U have evertyyhing old clear instalation +new ETkey + new map files+new cfgs should work with any problems:D

Gighen, update your graphics card first ^^
if that doesnt work you just startup ET, not trough quick connector or smth..
Go to main menu, options, system, and select a different resolution for example 800x600 or whatever then connect to PS.

When i enter in ET resolution sux, if I change resolution, but then i don't see more the full-screen, the screen reduce itself!!!!
if I increase resolution again ( to see the full screen ) I have the above mentioned problem...... :roll:

Well i only get that problem myself when i sometimes use different configs with probably different hardware settings.

Try playing with a standard config to see if it works, then compare it with your own config if you might see the problem.

can be things like resolution/bilinear-trilinear shit or 3d acceleration... not quite sure.

If I understand correctly. When U set higher resolution your screen is cutted in right or left side? if it is U have to go to your graphic card settings and change refresh rate to minimal (60hz). I had that problem and this solution working for me:D
