Connection interrupted issue.
Hey guys
since several weeks I'm having a very annoying 'lag'problem.
When I play, every like 30 seconds, it has a total connection interrupted for 1 maybe 2 seconds.
It's very weird, because for the rest my ping is normal, +- 30.
I tried to turn on and off my modem and my pc several times, but I never noticed any other internet problems so that isn't the problem.
I didn't download anything recently, didn't change my configuration in ET, etc...
I'm don't know much about computers so I hope you guys have an solution for me

Re: Connection interrupted issue.
I may say for the last 3 weeks i didn't have any problem onpS1, ping 20-30 no lags etc..but in the last few days I have experianced several 'connection interrupted' issue. Screen just freezes for several seconds and it kick's me out of game on main ET console. So i have to restart gme to join server.. I thought it was server issue, or something with ET. But the noticed on my modem that the lamp wich shows internet connection shuts down for a few second..so it must be something with internet provider company..I guess..couse it happens not just while playing ET but also when Im on net checking news etc..in winter I do not have such problem..only on summer period..so it must be something with very high temperature outside..well, thats just my opinion..gl with finding the couse..

NVIDIA control panel > Manage 3D settings > Program settings > Select a program to customize: Enemy Territory > Threaded optimization OFF

Something with 3D settings atleast
Re: Connection interrupted issue.
Yea, but problem is there is few options with 3d settings
Ok, maybe i try to change language in manu to Eng.

After that, open your CFG file and append the following line:
- Enemy Territory Code: Select all
seta r_primitives 2
Execute the CFG and restart ET.
Other possible solutions:
- temporarily turn off your anti-virus, then play ET and see if the lags are gone
- temporarily turn off your firewall, then play ET and see if the lags are gone
- while playing ET make sure that no other process (apart from et) is consuming 100% the CPU
- make sure that no other program is downloading/heavily using the Internet: e.g close Torrents/P2P programs
- if everything fails, the close all progams (including the Web Browser) and then play ET and see if the lags are gone
- try to defrag your hard disk.

[*]try to defrag your hard disk.-> this would be my last step

OK but how do I know I have an NVIDIA card?? Yes I'm a noob in such things...
Ehm I checked it: I have AMD A8-3530MX APU with radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.90HZ, so not NVIDIA
Hmm so other solutions??

Have you tried the r_primitives thing?

Ow, no I didn't try that. So what does it, the r_primitives thing?
I will try it this evening, I will post something here when it works or not.
thanks for help guys.

Re: Connection interrupted issue.
i got same problems years ago AFTER a nvidea update. i took OLDER version of it and all was fine.

I had a problem with low fps and lag, even though i should never have such problem as i own a powerful graphics card. After spending a lot of time on Google, it turned out that all i need to do is to change the value of r_primitives.
If that does not help then try to see if it is a problem thats only occurring on the PS server. Try to connect to other servers near you and see if it occurs.
If the lag occurs, then it may also be a problem with your ISP modem as sometimes modems fck up. In order to determine that, you need to analyze the behavior of other programs that use internet...

Re: Connection interrupted issue.
Slightly off topic, but just throwing in few things:
It is 'known' fix for AMD cards with catalyst version 13.X or newer, but so far I haven't heard it being usefull for NVIDIA cards. Might be as I haven't had any problems with my NVIDIA card so far, but I'm interested if you have had/know about problems on NVIDIA cards which this cvar has solved and if they were similiar as on AMD cards.
On AMD cards the problems occur as low fps and small gaps on green line in lag-o-meter.
Instructions to find out which GFX card you have can be found for example here under 'How do I find out what kind of video card my computer has'.

Very short explaination:Pompidom wrote:Ow, no I didn't try that. So what does it, the r_primitives thing?
Some manual wrote:r_primitives - Primitives have an influence on how RTCW renders its graphics. "0" is auto select, "1" is single gldrawelements, "2" is multiple gldrawelements.
thx for diamond

I can confirm that r_primitives works on nvidia cards as well, at least it worked great on gtx770.
My problem was low and inconsistent fps and slightl lag. Now i have a constant 125 fps after setting r_primitives to 2.
