Awaiting Connection...1,2,3,4 Etc.

Hey i intoduced my friend who plays Call Of Duty to ET (Prime-Squadron ) i know him in real life and he said he has this problem he follows me on xfire by pressing the Game controller to come on the server i am on and he says it just says Awaiting Connection 1.2.3.4.... Etc

I said you are either:

Typing the server in wrong (which he cant be becuase he is using xfore to follow me on the server)

The server is down (I was on the server waiting for him)

He has no Internet connection (he was on xfore sepaking to me)

Maybe ... make sure firewall is not blocking the connection (better yet ... turn it off).

Indeed, he should try to do /reconnect in his ocnsole sometimes. or it has to do something with his connecrtion or with the server. if you want to know if teh server is down you can always click on the Server Monitor on the website for the status

Normally you get a loading screen where you see: awaiting challenge and after that the awaiting gamestate line, but sometimes you get this message for more than 10 minutes (awaiting gamestate xxx ; awaiting challenge xxx).

A solution that may fix the problem;
Go to the directory; C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc (depending on which drive you installed Windows) In the directory ‘etc’ you will find a file called; ‘hosts’. Open the file and choose wordpad or another text editor to open the file with. Now add a new line and type; 192.246.40.62 etguidauth.evenbalance.com Save the file after this.

Now go to the directory; C:/Program Files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/pb (depending on where you installed Enemy Territory) In that folder delete the file; ‘pbns.dat’, and run the program; ‘pbweb.exe’. Wait while PB updates itself (this may take a while) and you are done.
