My new PC *happydance*

Postby Stormcrow » Sun Sep 09, 2007 21:41

ET:QW is coming "when september ends", and because of that i began to build a new PC for beeing up to date.

What would u say, is it good enough for the next 2 years? Here some facts:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI (socket 939)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (2*2,2Ghz)
RAM: 2* Infineon chips @ 1024mb
GFX: nVidia GeForce 7600 GS 512 MB

I also put in a 250GB SATA hard-drive, a 500 watt power supply and a Aspire modding case.

Currently i am installing Ubuntu Linux on it, but i guess i will make a windows partition also.

if you wanna play ET:QW for 2 years then it is good enough but you wont be able to play heavy games with it. A directX 10 card would be better.... but of course more expensive :P

The problem is that DirectX10 is not supported by Windows XP ^^

With the system you want to buy you can run Vista with ease. Even I with my crappy PC kan run Vista (not with all the graphic tricks but still)

Yeah, I think you should buy DirectX supported card, like 8800Gts, prices are coming down when ATI:s DX10 cards come out, and that 8800Gts is now best compared to money what you can buy now.
