Now that I accidently closed the wrong browser window for the 1260204826th time, I think it's time to stand up and say something about it.

I've experienced allmost all of the links on our site are linking in the same window. Many of them are usefull, you don't want every topic you read in a new window, I understand.

But for things, e.g Rulebook, FAQ, Server Monitor (the things that aren't in the same style as the main website) it would be nice to have a TARGET='_BLANK' added. I forget to press CTRL sometimes, and when I think I close the tab, I close the Prime-Squadron site

I don't know how much PHPnuke allows you to add TARGETS, but it would be nice (If not possible, I might fix it in the raw code, but would take me a little more time then the way I just mentioned).

Anyway, do what you want with my advise, I might be the only one, forgetting to press CTRL or SHIFT while clicking a link.

Its something I already tried to do a year ago

Problem is that the standard nuke editor strips out the target tag once saved.

Never looked at it any further cause it wasnt a major problem in my eyes,
but ill see what i can do

Use firefox press your scroll wheel on the link and it opens it in a new tab.

the years i used IE.

warren if i am right phpnuke save the links in its database or?
if yes then simple edit it and add the target tag after you make teh link

I don't know how phpnuke is made (never did go into it), but i guess you could make a new class for links in your css file and add (for example) a.forum_posts {target-new: tab} and then edit the way it writes out the links in user posts

Yep css3 is one of my wet dreams

. Too bad Internet Explorer (IE) doesnt support it

And even browsers like firefox and opera dont fully support css3.

Too bad about the css thing

What about changing the way the links are printed out and adding target=_blank into them (i think that works in ff, opera and IE (IE6 opens a new window, IE7 opens a new tab))?

IE7 want to open in new window. Middle mouse button is for open in new tab.

Well, in FireFox you can choose @ tools whether you want a new page opened in a TAB or in a NEW WINDOW.

But if I forget pressing shift or ctrl, I might forget pressing scroll button as well.

Look, I never used PHPnuke, cause I could build my own website's in PHP + MySQL, so I don't really know the options.
