MKV is not a video format (codec), it's a container which can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture or subtitle tracks inside a single file. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matroska).

So, you don't need to search for a converter, but for an "extractor", for example mkvtool : http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/

Thanks for the info i tryed mkvtoolnix (windows) but it wont work... i searched google some extractors, found some but they wont work too, maybe anyone have one what is tested :S

edit: with mkvtoolnix it goes to: mka or anyother unknown type

~~ .mka; .iso; .avc;

Hm .iso is an image file, which you can burn to dvd/cd using nero (or other recording software) so convert it to iso and burn it :)

Use daemon tools to load it into a virtual CD/DVD device, or extract it with winrar (first option is better :))

Then it's not a proper iso file :)
If it's a valid image file (iso, nrg, img, cue etc) then daemon tools can load it
What error does it say when trying to load it?

Ok maybe i didn't explain right...daemon tools makes a "virtual CD/DVD device" (it's not a real physical device, but when you open up "My computer" it's listed there as another CD/DVD ROM)...when daemon tools starts, you simply right-click on the tray icon, select mount media (or something similar, can't remember right now) and choose your *.iso file. When it's done the game startup screen wil popup (if it doesn't, open up My computer and doubleclick the new CD/DVDROM)
But if you want to extract files from *.iso, you can use winrar (google ^^)

Sorry for offtopic :oops:
