PS Server Language: English Only!

As of today (January 16, 2008), all PS Servers will be English Only :!:

This means;

- Only English in Main -and Teamchat
- No more language exceptions (like German, Polish or French)
- No mindless chit-chat about what languages are allowed on what server
- A more uniform character for our servers

This also means that;

- You can still use a Fireteam or PM (Private Messaging) to talk in your native (home) language. See our FAQ (or ask other players) for more info about ingame Private Messaging

To conclude;

- Not a lot will change (server or admin wise), we simply get rid of the seperate server language exceptions, this to limit miscommunication and make our servers a more fair & friendly place for everyone.

This discussion was started in AF due to recent & past events (see for instance a few of the topic in 'PS4 Discussion'). It was time to address this issue for one last time

schreibs denen einfach per pm /m name text wenn die deutsch sind, ansonsten !warn xy no spawnkill / teamkill

write a pm /m name text if they are german, otherwise do: !warn ...

I agree and disagree at the same time. I agree for the fact that some people try to insult others in vulgar language in their native talk so that they would not understand. This will create a sense of order in the server so we will understand everything that they are saying, the good and the bad. The only disadvantage is that, although English is an international language, there are some people who do not know how to speak it...well yes then there is the pm alt...Anyway good choice admins its better dat way =)

remember the rules are in english -.-'
if they are talking their language its cause they cant understand

This "translated short rules" already exist in PS3, i will ask to Stormy to share it with other owners if tthey want.

For me it s a nice rule. You say that some people don t understand english? in this case u have to allow all languag then, there is no reason to make exception, and i want c u mangae all craps in mainchat ....

What is "stupid" is to be there, with players talkin in mianchat with words than u don t know a shit about, u c some bad words time 2 times but u can t warn cuz u don t know the exact sense of the conversation etc ...., and we can t tolerate that. SO, it will be clear now and players won t have numerous rules changin each time that they change server, it will surly low craps and spams and it will help some with their english

hi @ all,
i have one question about serverlang.
i have make in my cfg my own vsay-bindings,zb.when i need a medic(v-2-1),stand my own text there (but in german) ,is it breaking the rules and i doesnt use it at ps-server?
i think the vsay-sound is in english also i do it multilingual ...

Usually, we ask to use ONLY english bind, to avoid confusion.

We've never made a big deal out of Vsay binds with texts in other languages, as long as you don't spam them around after every fart

We had some players in the past who used a Vsay for every; kill, grenade throw, empty clip, respawn, class etc..
Even if they were in English we wouldn't allow them cause its annoying as hell.

I have my ask here only postet in the forum because i was warnd on PS#1 from "normal"-player. with "normal" do i mean not an-|PS|-Admin, if had me warnd a -|PS|-member i respect it (affirmative,i respect all player) and I did not use my own vsays.but i didnt do it for someone ho give me ingame no correct answear to my question about this topic.
but well I have my answer and know, it more or less waited at the server.
I do not hope I have too much troubled with this topic

This is a very old announcement to announce we've changed one of our major rules regarding language. It's 8 months old so you really do not need to post your opinion about this change.

Unless you have something useful to add in this topic, you have no need to tell us.

We know it was a good idea to change the language rule to only english
