i play on ps1. i love it. a few days ago my ping suddenly jumped from its usual 120 (which is a lot i know) to 400, 500 and sometimes 600! needless to say that now i cant play on my favourite server cause im laggy as hell... could anybody pls explain what nedds to be done in order to fix this (aside from getting a better connection, which im working on)?

if you want to go through the effort try calling your isp and ask them if they can improve the connection to that ip...

edit:
before you do that thought, you could provide them with the information you can easily get yourself to make them work abit faster...

1. Go to start and click at RUN
2. Type in "cmd"
3. In the new window type in "tracert 85.25.138.83"
4. When is finish, take screenshot or write down results
5. your IP (http://www.showmyip.com)

5. could repeat this a couple of time, note* look for package losses...

I'm sure they can help you if you send the information to them asking to improve your connections...
and if not...theres always the possibility that the server provider can give the same service...

thanx a lot invince, i did that, and i dont know exactly what they did but my ping is back to its original number. there is however a different problem that occured after they fixed the problem: when i went online, daemon told me that i have a different name in my guidekey (i think thats what he said) and therefore my levels are gone, and i keep getting disconnected with a message about a duplicate client (??) could someone help me with this? im kinda lost.
oh, and daemon, you know what you said about never hearing anything from me? thats weird because just last week i bothered you with my noob ping questions

I'm not the best when it comes to ET problems, but I think that means that you copied/moved the et files to somewhere else and therefor duplicated the client or something... just remove ET and reinstall it, but wait for someone elses advice, cuz as I said, I suck when fixing ET issues lol

no daemon, wasent talking about his ping but the

and yea, downloading porn and watching it the same time as you play ET owns, but everyone cant do that, only me, ty mr laptop for apearing on my desk, even thought I have another computer running next to you!

i think his problem is..
he connects and server gets confused and he connects again .so double client key..well pb is on so that problmem is solved
