Need some help please, Tech Guys :)
Well here it is.. My time has come to shamefully admit, that i..
UPGRADED to Windows Vista. Ouch .. what a bad move x). Honestly, there are minor changes from Xp that i used to use..
Well help is needed for me here. Im stuck on how to Run ET on Vista. I have installed the latest patch 260b, tried various configs blahblah and i'm still stuck. I need help from you guys.
Ive made a few pictures for information:
This is the error i am getting while executing "ET.EXE" from folder "C:\Users\Liam\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory". I don't understand what the error is meaning to say.
These 2 pictures show my my computers spec and vista version etc.. Just extra information if you need it.
Other things to note:
1) My Vista Home Premium is Genuine, activated and Legal .. i have the CD-Key entered and it is all ready to be used.
2) I don't think my graphics drivers work .. even if i have installed them from the computer's manufacturer's website. Need to test somehow.
3) I have working sound drivers.
4) Punkbuster is installed and ready to use.
5) New Wolf:ET CD-Key, as my old one had no important things on.
6) I have not installed "Windows Aero" as it has a bad reputation for draining system usage.
7) Any other information that is needed, i will happily supply.
Thank you all !
Liam

A failing OpenGL subsystem is likely caused by missing or failing display drivers.
I see you run DirectX 10 but do you have a vidcard that supports it?
Cause I thought that DX10 wasnt backwards compatible with non-supported cards.

How to fix OpenGL errors?
Your computer doesn’t have OpenGL compatible drivers (for your graphics card) installed. This normally occurs when the standard windows drivers are used.
How to fix it?
Go to the website of your Graphics Card manufacturer and download the newest drivers for your videocard.
ATI owners - http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html
Nvidia owners - http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
This error can also occur if you have a wrong video mode selected for your system (monitor). For instance a too high resolution of 1600x1024 may not work depending on your monitor and/or graphics card.
yes theres obviously something wrong with your drivers. just recheck them, make sure you go tthe newest ones and that they're installed properly.
maybe you can send us some screenies of your graphics card and video driver details...
EDIT: about the directx, et doesn't use directx so there's no issue there i think. and that screenie is just from some directx diagnostic tool that comes along with the directx dload (and he happened to have run).

Your graphics drivers don't seem to be working, which is why the OpenGL renderer doesn't start.
You have an Intel 910GML chipset with onboard graphics, which I looked up on Intel's site. Their driver does not support Windows Vista.
A quick google found others in your situation, but unfortunately I couldn't find a solution. It's possible that there currently isn't one yet.
This is probably not what you want to hear, but I would recommend downgrading to Windows XP. Before you do that however, here's a link to the Windows XP drivers for your graphics chipset, if you're lucky it might just work for you in vista.

Thanks everyone!
@w00t, i know my system model DID have that on-board graphics, but ive had this upgraded, with new motherboard with an ATI radeon graphics card. Its supported for Vista, as i have checked the ATI website.
Problem is, it hasnt support for DX10 YET. But hopefully soon it will happen.
Just for everyone to know, i have fixed my problem x). Thanks to everyones help. I managed to make DX 9.0C and DX10 co-exist, and allow any process in need of DX9, go automaticlly to DX9.0C. Soo, my Wolf:ET process (et.exe) can find my DX9 and play good . Im getting an okay FPS of 150, very smooth for me.
Problem solved . Thnks again.
