perhaps a special prog thats running?
what are you doing when it freezes?
do you unplug internetconnection do it still freeze?
do you tried running windows in safe mode?
theres a function called recoverypoint! (sorry i dont know what it is in english!)
if nothin helps then try that

It sounds to me like a heat problem so i think you should check if all the fans are working properly.

You can check your computer temperature with this program

If its higher then 60 celsius (i believe) its getting kinda bad

i am running et when it crashes do you think it could be pb trying to update which is making it crash i have installed some new hardware for my new mp3 player do you think getting rid of some programs will help or not

Write it crashed when You try on some games, make some grafic in programs like a 3dmax or sth like that. If yes that will be Your grafic card. I have a few months ago radeon9800se with active cooling, and i have broken windmill, they just dont work, so grafic card when i try on games get hight temperature and PC just crashed.

If this happend only when You try run ET and You can play on others games with highest performance, i think problem is not grafic. That will be sth with system not Your machine.

i dont know what you mean the only game i play is et right now i cant even play it for 1 hour it crashes every 5 minutes

I don't know for sure but i think he means overclocked.

Some options i could think of:
- Do you have the same problem if you're running a different program like MS Office? -> Check heating.
- Do you have the same problem when you're playing a different game? -> Check graphic card
- Did you changed settings on your pc just before this started? (for instance overclocking) -> Undo those settings
- Did it start immediately after you installed new software? -> Try uninstall it
- Did it start after you added new hardware to your pc? -> Remove it
- Nothing seems to work and you starting to get desperate -> reinstall ET (remember to save your "etkey" file!)

Listen Enemy have very low details so grafic card will not have a lot of work, so the temperature will be not hight at the begining but they will grove up with time.
To check your grafic card install games with highest performance like a call of duty or sth like that and check if PC will gona crusched quickly, or will crusched for a while i will say u can have problems with grafic card. Do You get it. Remember once games what u will be instaled must have performance not to hight for Your machine (thats mean teoritical they schould work)

1 instal other game
2 try to play on it
3 if u cant becuse pc crushed -> U have broken grafic card (propably)

High temperature pc and everytime crash ?
Screen freeze and you can only restart computer, if yes update your
video card. I had same problem in past and I was looking for answer to long. Hoply found by accident

For check this join to server without PB, if you still have crash that might be problem with your video card.

Btw, like others wrote try some other games.
