Punkbuster and me

Postby Bahamut_Zero » Wed Sep 20, 2006 17:15

Since yesterday that Punkbuster was turned on in PS1 server, I can't log in. I have uninstalled ET, deleted any file left behind and reinstalled it, but still can't log in because I keep receiving a PB error message, "Inadequate O/S privileges". Any idea on what's this all about? Will PB be turned off again? :cry:

I am administrator at my PC (otherwise, I wouldn't be able to do a thing). I thought it could be some ETPro issue, but as I said, even with a fresh installation, I get the message error every time I try to log in into a PB on server (PS1 including).

Anyways, thanks for the suggestion.

Download and run this file from any location, it will check for adware that stops you from being able to play on PB servers. The VX2 adware edits your user rights when it infects your computer, and many programs do not repair this when they remove it.

http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/VX2Finder(126).exe

Click the "Find VX2.betterinternet info" button to make sure that you don't have this adware. If there are no files listed, go on to the last step. If you find the adware files, (it is usually 3 random named dll files) Select all the files found.

Press 'Delete These Files'. The program will delete all files but one that will be deleted on reboot. Allow program to reboot. Once Restarted:

* Press 'Guardian.reg'.
* Press 'User Agent'.
* Press 'Restore Policy'.

Clicking on "find vx2.BetterInternet info" again should show all fields blank.
If you have no adware files, just click on the "Restore Policy" Button

for the link, copy/paste it in your firefox or other good navigator (thus not ie ! :lol: ), it will not work by clicking ;)

If all the help from rest of the admins doesn't work i will make a [HOWTO] Get rid of PB, topic about Inadequate :) And i will add the program that helps you with fixing your system. So just tell :D

but whats wrong with google? Is it down or something, didnt think so :wink:
Sometimes people dont want to do a little effort themselves (or maybe they are pc newbies or something dont know)
no offence to the topicstarter :lol:
