i saw u were SC'ing - hanging around spawn and not afk. he was bored and he probably knew that u weren't afk so he shot. did u reminded them rules of the server or explain something about the rules.
i think first say stop ,
then explain rules,
and if they still brake rules call admin from other serv. or xfire.

second when you see player are sc or afk call admin!

i can't agree. If there is one in spawn and its shooting from there (SC, SpawnCamping) so you should kill him. Then its not a sk!

please read the rulebook again :roll:

Killing the enemy in his own Spawn (the players' starting locations) is NOT allowed and is considered Spawnkilling (SK), this includes; walking into enemy spawn, shooting into enemy spawn from a distance.
This rule applies to ALL weapons!

Spawnkilling is a serious offence and will most likely result in a warn (!warn, !burn, !gib) possibly followed by a kick, temporary ban or permanent ban (depending on the situation).

Deliberately hanging around (also known as Camping) Enemy spawn and/or your own spawn is NOT allowed and is considered Spawncamping (SC). SC will result in a warn (!warn, !slap, !burn, !fling, !throw, !gib) depending on the situation.

so when you kill a sc it is a sk

pls dont do a rulebreak with a other rulebreaker.....

call admin over x-fire, msn etc.......

i thought that sk is when somebody spawns and then suddenly someone kills him-it is like that in all other games. not that player spawns then sticks to spawn place and starts sc. am i correct? what i mean is that if a player stays in his spawn after he has already spawned then the killer who wants to kill enemy isnt doing sk.

Correct.

If someone is spawncamping and you return fire, you would be spawnkilling at the same time. If someone is shooting from spawn this doesn't automatically makes spawnkilling the guy legit. Report it to an admin and move away.

There are no exceptions in this case, you just dont kill someone in spawn even if he's shooting at you.

and how can you steal the objectives in basrease if there are campers in spawn that shoot at you but you cant shoot at them. In 90% of the time no admin is in server and leaving server to disturb an admin in xfire is not a good way to solve this problem.

The times I played Baserace ive only seen soldiers with mortars camping (SC) in their own spawn, all the other players just move forward, away from the stones (spawn) onto the grass.

What i wanted to point out is that returning fire upon a SC'er is considered spawnkilling, its not like the rules for SK change all of a sudden.

and what can I do if there is one SC'ing with mortar? And maybe he is SK by firing to other base (spawn). No admin online (like in 90% of the time). I kill him every time (yes, and when I amdeath i ask him to stop sc) and after 10 times he decides that mortar ist not best solution at this pointin map and tries another position or class.

i think SC must be taken as seriously as SK, but the problem is that SC is much more likely not to be detected than SK.

Yep thats a risk you could take, but would advice you to take a demo first in case this situation backfires at you, see Hunter's reply above as well.

If there arent any admins online and a SC'er is ruining it for everyone it would be the quickest solution to take him down but it would be SK nonetheless.

Anyway this discussion is going waaay offtopic

The demo provided by Bobek is just 1 big provocation from his side;
- you are NOT afk
- you are SC'ing, moving away from spawn and back again

And in this case there were only 3 people online which makes it less severe imo, also taking the points above into consideration.

Time to close this one up.

admining the server doesnt mean to be police officer-like to be there and to wait until any booby does any shit.

For sure i dont took servers in this community that i have to be in specmode all time i connect and have my eyes on all spawns (SC, SK), on all players (TB, TK, PUSHING), all time pressing TAB (TEAMS), all time typing (EVEN TEAMS, DONT SK; TK; TB; SC)

reading this topic makes me sick, while i am in a bad mood right now anyway.

fact is.. to have FUN on this server, rules 4 everybody are needed. some people know them all, some know only a few, some know not one singel rule.

if not too much admins around its up to the players to communicate our rules. We got enough regulars on the server who know how to play that all have fun.. Most of u know how to balance teams, how to play, where not to go/kill and so on .. So pls.. JUST DO IT that way..
Sure in every game there are situations hard on boarder (SC, SK).. bacerace not even better then goldendunk where spawn area = obj area...
but its so sad we need to discuss here SC vs SK on a server full with regulars.. if newbie camps in own spawn the team has to help the enemy in this case.. push him out... candidates slap him.. tell him.. explain.. DO something urself.. (if u kill the SC-player, BIERMACGRITSCH, i personal got no prob in this case, even if its SK.. prob is player dont get the rulebreak he did and risk that respawned players are involved is very high)... dont whine in forum "NO ADMIN NO ADMIN"
like i said.. even there would be an admin he cant see everything.. and its annoying for MUCH of us we cant play one map with tag on our servers because all complain.. whine.. and so on.. admin needs to go to spec to check teamkilling or admin is the first who switches team.. admin all time the poor idiot.... its reason i play often undercover, when i rly only want to play.. and then i act like a player.. and i know its possible... i solved much probs without adminpower and without my tag, so dont tell me its not possible...

guys.. u play here for nothing, server is upsetted for u.. its ur (players) server.. MOD like most of u want, settings like most want, maps that most want.. so do something for it urself to keep it clean as good as possible.
