my tips to speed up game...

change all settings in menu to as low as possible.
and console commands...

r_picmip 3 // blurring textures
rate 40000 // less lag
snaps 40 // as above
r_detailtextures 0 // less detailed textures
com_zonemegs 32 // yay, more memory for et!

and the most important... change windows color depth to 16 bit. now, from 30 fps i have around 90!

that being said, 6 commands. with these et still look like et. i've seen many screens from diffrent configs and to be honest, they just suck. it's like playing far cry on quake 1 engine.

I play the game with all it's quality's
don't like shitty details just for the high speed, if it just doesn't lag I'm glad
that's also the reason why I don't play ETQW, gr8 game but if I would need to run it on my crap pc, would be able with all lowest graphics, the visual would be worse then ET

well, my et looks good enough to play. it's not over brighted or so... just less detailed textures and models, that's all. high fps is required in fight. et is pretty old game. i have a pretty new laptop, and i can play COD4 with 16 players on medium details without any fps drops, but that engine was polished. now i play et with 40 players - that's a BIG diffrence

oh and about quake wars - i can't stand what's so cool about it. i tried to run demo on my laptop, and it was running fine, BUT.. it doesn't feel the same as ET. i even downloaded demo for my xbox 360, but it's poor in gameplay! world war 2 forever..
