Lags (not usual)

Hello all,

its known i lagg a lot, its my connection they say.

but since NQ 1.2.0 is on i get every 10 secs this lagg

and its like 4 secs long

look to the lagg meter

its so anoying

- i got /cl_maxpackets 100
- rate 25000 (40000 doesnt help)
- snaps 40 (20 doesnt help)

on which server did it happend and how many times was ther at that moment? also run a antivir programm and make a spyware search as well. how fast is ur internet connection? which OS do u use and do u got dual-core?

You have to find the perfect combination of max packets and max fps.
For me, cl_maxpackets 80 works better then 100.

Also snaps 40 is only usefull with really good connections.

Anti - virus program >> AVG free edition (updated fully, if im right)
spyware program >> CCleaner, please tell me how to use this for spyware , i know to clean up junk but not that.

and the servers : on all 1.2.0 NQ servers

about the cores -> i dont understand that (im bad in pc's) its something with CTRL-ALT-DEL ?

He has worse computer than I do and I got single core

AMD Athlon 3000+ =<.

Btw,
Wireless?

Are you sure that you've everything plugged etc. ?

And its for fps not for connecting,icy:<?

my fps is normal, my ping reases and i see connection interupted, then i see, and then not, switching very quickly


(and i got a GF 6200 vid card now
and i got a windows xp , intel celeron (PC)(not new, just upgraded RAM and vid card)

1 GB RAM
2.26 GHz)

I don't but I have these lags too ! When I set pmove _fixed 1 then I must reset comp -_-

edit: my conecting is gd + I have core 2 duo ( i know et use only 1 but that's not prob) I run in same time 2x Silkroad Online mmorpg game ( that getting 10kb/s each (cuz 2x me) ) if I close that lags are same,

in my pour and newby opinion server can be laggy :PP
or some bad changes in nq new v. crappy serv becouse creating too much new files which making full memory ...

Lolll Samuraii I didn't know you were using a wireless connection, no wonder you lag :P

1st thing you should do is connect your pc with an utp cable to your modem/router and see if the problem still exists. Even the best pc's suck with online games when the internet connection is messed up. Probably easier said than done but otherwise grab your pc throw it downstairs and hook it up, takes you half an hour or so :P

Wireless connections just aren't 100% stable and there are many things (distance, walls, other electronic equipment etc.) that can interfere with the signal.

Like Forrest's momma said; "<s>Life</s> Wireless connection is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get" ;)

i told it already in one of the thousand PM's i send you :lol:

and i dont rule here in my home :oops: , i asked my dad for a lot of thinks, and also for a cable, but didnt worked, and there are more players with wireless but no laggs.. or they just lie :lol:

only my ground is between my pc en the sender (under is my dad's "office" with the "evil thingie")

Of course its possible to play with a wireless connection but it can cause unexpected problems like i said above.

I don't think there isnt much we can do if you arent able to rule out your wireless connection first.
You tried to run a traceroute already?
