And this papirus-screen.. painting this main picture and the model of Earth with runin ppl on it.. waw :P
Bah - for me the most interesting fact is how the hell they make such a big screen on rand of this arena.. OLED or LED technology? I wont sleep today if I dont meet truth!

That was just awesome, moves are very harmonious and synchronized. And I loved the fly in the skies for the lighting of the flame. Gratz to Chinese people for that super opening ceremony.

I simply boycott this one as i think the decision to give Olympic games organistaion to a country who don t respect human rights and masscre as free tibetans was a totaly crap and bullshit one. It just sound for me as Olympic games of money and buisness  .

RSF member Bowdown? I think the whole word does more propaganda then China.
IMO these games could be a great way to change Chinese mind.

I agree with Bow, there is not much left of the olympic spirit nowadays when a country like China can host the Olympic Games. " .. Peaceful and better world .." my a**. And its not a one time mistake from IOK. Another NOT-democratic country is hosting Olympic Games in the near future :(

yes!
but if china make the olympics or not they have to participate in the capitalistic world. so sooner or later you will no longer hear about the damn human rights or else! cause they will respect it! they will respect it as other countries do. like the usa where in most states no social health system exists. or people brought to prison without having a lawyer or a court hearing. or the laws were made to observe the guilty. pah.....the innocent be observed and data is taking to overrule the legistlation. or people were constrained in many ways to go to war for there country and when they come back no one cares about them. if they are cripples...wth...they need to make it on their own.
so talking about human and civil rights is not a china thing you know.
it distracts us from thinking about our own countries and our behavior.
like watching TV and believe almost everything of whats seen or playing games and further on......
ye the chinese maybe didnt invent propaganda.
our whole live is full of it.
peace out.....

Mistakes, lacks in law system, some society problems exist everywhere PrimitivE. It's not about changing China into democracy country while they don't want it. It's about killing civil ppl since 50 years, it's about destroying some1 culture, and having no respect for a life. Capitalism u say? Capitalism is in China already. For some years.

Pointed misatkes of USA and other western countires doeasn't explain or justify China's war. The fact that maybe USA also dont desrve making an Olympic game, doeasn't mean that China do.

Furthmore, im a bit sick of all that silly orders and "shows" from China government. It's silly. It's fake. It is something that makes me ill. That's the point also.

maybe you didnt get what i meant!
what i mean is that now everybodys talking about china.
yes theres a lot to talk. its a regime a Diktatur where the rights of one human being is trampled under foot.
and china is on warfare yes indeed.
i totally solidarise with the tibetian nation. man the only religion which fits to me a little is buddhism.
but america is on warfare for how many years? how many civilians have died in so called " we bring democracy to the world" wars?
how many weapons were sold buy the german arms industry to countries where it were used to kill civilians to oppress the weak opposition and the entire nation? and youre talking about some mistakes?
and what about the psychological manipulation which is turned on everyone of us every day?
so to come back to what i mean is that maybe we will have a look on our own countries first before we are pointing a finger on others.
our politicians and economy do not fail. they do it on purpose.
god is dead. hail to the money.

If we wont point our fingers there, who will?

Im not naive or blind. I surely know that so called "western world" countries got not a little on their conscience. I also know that public opinion is seeing the problem now, while it exists about 50 years. It's kinda sad if u ask me. Politicians of course made a real circus with it. As awlays. I agree with U in that, im sick of them too.

But still, these facts doeasnt change the situation. If mr.Bush is screaming about war in Tybet u can call him hypocrite. But u cant call that every1 who "point finger" on China. If my country has doing some wrong things is that mean that i cant critisize others? I can! I got my right to do it. Cuz there still re ppl form Germany or USA or wherever u want, that re fighting for human rights not only in China and not only now. And it's kinda normal anyway, that ppl re seeing now this war, when its the Olympics time. Maybe it's the best time to sort some things there.

And last, i think u re comparing things which re uncomparble. Im far away from idealizing any form of goverment in any countries. However, no matter how till now USA and other democracy forces made crime things, there is a difference between it and China. This diference is a freedom. Sounds pathetic? Probably yes, but also truly. U still living in Germany can crtisize ur goverment, u can post and show ur opinions about it without any fear that some policeman will knock to ur door at midnight cuz of that. U got a choice what to do with ur life. Ppl in China dont have it. My country was 50 years under the comunism boots. The feeling that goverment tells U what is true or not, what is good and whats not, what u can say, how must u wear, what can u read, etc. is something terrible. So, even now when we got band of silly dumbs in parliament and it's hard to get a job, still no1 persuede me that in past was better. It wasn't.

well said! I'm 23 and got to taste that regime for the 1st 6 years of my life. Although I was too young to have many memories from that time, I know everything from the memories of my parents and grandparents. And thats why we - Eastern europeans are more critical for countries where people have no human rights.

Have you seen those interviews with chinese people in Bejing. They smile and praise China and the olympic games, but if they are asked about human rights or Tibet or something like that, they become serious, stop talking and walk away from the camera. Cause they are afraid!!!

Cut the bullsh*t, its about sports, not politics.

Don't use a sports event to sharpen your political or ethical views...even if they are correct.

Economical progress and improved human rights go hand in hand, just give it some time.
