Elves
I was walking near a channel at my city when i heard some noise, something was splashing in the water.
I ran toward the waterside and saw a little Elve fighting to keep his head above the waterline.
So, i bend over and pull the little elve out of the water.
Thank you, thank you so much he said, you saved my live!
Well, i said , it was nothing.
No No he said, because of saving my live i grand u one wish.
Now, since i am to scared to fly and i cant swim and also dont have the time to go by boat i never get around to go to America.
So i asked the elve if he could make me a bridge form the shore of Holland to the shore of America so i can go by car.
Hmm.. said the elve thats realy a tough one, cant u make me an easy wish?
Well i said, i would like to get me a very pretty and nice blond wife but...most important one WITH brains.....
Ok said the elve, do u want lights on the bridge....

in the fairy tale The Elf of the Rose by Danish author H. C. Andersen is so tiny that he can have a rose blossom for home, and has "wings that reached from his shoulders to his feet"
English folktales of the early modern period commonly portray elves as small, elusive people with mischievous personalities. They are not evil but might annoy humans or interfere in their affairs. They are sometimes said to be invisible. In this tradition, elves became similar to the concept of fairies.
Significant for the distancing of the concept of elves from its mythological origins was the influence from literature. In Elizabethan England, William Shakespeare imagined elves as little people. He apparently considered elves and fairies to be the same race. In Henry IV, part 1, act II, scene iv, he has Falstaff call Prince Henry, "you starveling, you elfskin!", and in his A Midsummer Night's Dream, his elves are almost as small as insects.
