Quick connect using hosts file
If I may add a tip that is very easy in use?
Go to C:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
and open this program with notepad.
You'll probably see an ip adres at the bottom of the file.
This is where you can add your ip adresses.
I don't know the -|PS|- IP's by heart, but it comes to the same
Simple do it like this:
And replace tab by a press on the tab button ofcourse.
After this you'll just have to open your ET and typ
and you'll be connected.
I, for example, already have 10 servers in it.
Btw: don't typ the port number (27960)!
greetings,
speedzor

i dont undestand all, but it sounds interesting... but 1 question, how it really connects to right server, because for example if you use ps1 ip: 213.239.219.249 port 27960 connects you to ps1 but 27961 to ps7. how that thing knows which port it should connect if you dont give the port to it?
thx for diamond
Nice idea!
But its true, you can only use Server-IPs with default port, cause the hosts-file is only a "local DNS resolver", which is used before the DNS-request to your Router/ISP is sent.
Maybe it would work, if you create one entry for PS2, PS4 and PS5 (all on same srv):
Then you could try in ET:
This should connect you to PS4 and you only have to remember the ports, instead of the whole ip.
PS: It _should_ work, but i havent testet.
Edit: Another idea (for ppl with a lot free keys a.k.a Logitech G11-Users ):
Just create a bind to connect:

nice feature indeed.
This doesnt work with not standard-ports (only 27960), in hosts-file you can only put in ip-adresses, but not specify a port (applications use their standard-ports).
Btw you can use this not only for ET, also for all other stuff (Teamspeak, Games, Hosts, what ever).
Every time when you are asked for a ip-adress you can add a alias in this file, tell you comp who is who.
Cheers!

or use this:
http://www.speedyshare.com/617608390.html
place the cfg files in etmain dir
and then ingame enter /exec ps3 for example connect to ps3
(maybe you need to change the ips in the file because maybe they are wrong)
i use that and its quick and dirty
sorry for pushing topic
