Rule / Language

Postby rohnn » Fri Jan 23, 2009 18:14

Please allow me to re-post this part of the PS rule book :
"
Don’t Insult or Provoke

Insulting and/or Provoking the Prime Squadron Community, its members or any other player at our servers is NOT allowed and will result in a permanent ban. Respect all players, including the so called ‘noobs’ or ‘newbies’ so everyone can enjoy the game.
"

Lately on PS5, I've seen a real huge amount of "nabs" "nobs" and so on.

Even from PS members.

Honeslty, when you are a average (or even below avg) player like I am, it is really annoying and a real lack of respect.

I am not asking to warn/ban anyone, so dont bother asking me for demo of screenshot as I have none, but anyone who has spent a few hours on the server should have noticed that.

Thank you.

Topic moved to PS5 discussion

But the way, what you try to say with "noobs"? bad players, bad behaviour, bad language ...? You told to don t ask for demo but i will do, you come here and post that you are bored by players and also some PS members, but as usual talk is cheap, show me proofs and we can talk about. It s easy to post and don t wanted show real stuffs, if we going this way , i can also say that you are a liar and we can close the topic  .
And finaly, if you don t want kick/warn, what s your goal? So, next time you noticed something wrong, take few seconds and do some screenies, only in this way we can help you amigo.

I am very disappointed with that attitude.
I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

nab

Postby eLemenT » Fri Jan 23, 2009 20:36

i think u missunderstood drag a bit
he doesnt want to say that nab isnt insulting
he just use it as fun/jokes..
example: dam flash u nab again you killed me :p

so dont really use as insult like this:
stop killing me you nab

like that i understood the thing :)
hope u got me

I dont agree with Qwerty. Maybe at other servers nab and noob are same words but not at ps#5. Me, Dutchman, Drag and few other guys started to call ourselfs "nabs" just for fun. Loong time ago, we were talking about naabish word with most nabbish king Dutchnab. And so on...
If someone can't see the difference beetween f.e. "omg, stfu u NOOOB!" and "I killed Dagnab" its kinda.... sad
Sorry, but i wont change the way im talking to my mates, ppl who perfectly know that im joking; they are not taking offence, same from my side.

..... bah...

like always... it depends on situation.... dagh and dutch pointed out...

i hate noob/nab-calling in bad way and i mute for every variation of "noob" if i feel it is written to provoke.... but u cant do that in general.. look ps3 the owner tags himself with noob.. so not the word is the bad thing itself....and the regs who know each other can call themselves whatever they want between some borders :D

Iv had this problem a couple of times when iv thought it was rude but when it was explained to me i realised that they only use the word in a fun context.

If however there were uses of the word in a bad context, any screenies or demos or such situations would be looked at and dealt with accordingly.

but how can u understand if i'm joking? You can't see my fast behind the screen. I can also mean under word "nab" insult. example: I use word "nab" on purpose because i know you take it as fun, but i have other meaning under that word. imo it shouldn't be allowed.

3 admins already answered you...
If 'nab' is insulting for you with same way of thinking we should dissalow PS#4 server name - Fomoksland, coz as far i remember fomok means something bad
Or you should change your nick coz someone have bad memories with cats.
End of the world is near

*cough* ... actually not, but I won't go further with that...

Time is passing by and languages change everyday.
Some people find certain words insulting some do not.
If you have a problem with this you can ask the persons to nicely stop using the words or easier.

/ignore *NabsayingPerson'sNameHere!*...
You say: "Great Shot!"
I say: "aimbot"
