i want to discuss the settings from the landmines to see what our players from the server think about it.
at the moment the teamdamage from the mines is turned of and i personally dont like this way. all weapons do teamdamage so why should mines dont do it too? only because some players cant jump or just like it to minewalk and engis get higher TD that cant be a reason for me.
but the main point why i find its not a good choise is that you can now protect flags with it or you plant mines at some ways and ppl escape through the mines and you just have no chance to follow him.
the advantage for the team that plant mines (most times the defenders) is at the moment realy to high for me.
it would be nice if you would tell us your reasons why its good or bad instead of only voting.

I agree with you in this point, its unrealistic and in some cases unfair. It is horrible to be a engineer with high teamdamage and teamkills, but this is not the good solution for it.

There indeed much players in the server usually, but on the other hand there only 15 landmines available.... Friendly fire was on for landmines a really long period, and I in each case never saw big problems with it.

Agree with Ziel here.

your points are right.. but you have also to think about the other side.
the mine-planting engi is a poor soul at ps1 when ff is off. its no fun to place mines on rly good places.. a bit hided behind something.
sooo much times a dump teammate destroys your well planted mine and upon on this he collects teamdamage
i remember szeryf kicking teammates who step his mines, because he was just pissed of it.. and a little bit i could understand him ^^
because of this reason i disabled ff of mines long time ago on ps5 and i must say i am happy as player who plays most times engi.
but ur arguements about "realism" and "mine spamming at flags" etc. are also good... so for me all in all.... never mind...

I agree with all of you, but imo the best idea is: TD for mines off and every class can spot mines, so things will be easier for attackers...

I entirely agree with this sentences. 2 rights.
In my opinion: turn on TD of mines.
But maybe can do that: TD on statistics gets no engi but person ho stand on mines.

I play on server where fildops can spot mines ( i dont remember but mast have 4 lvl in fildops or higher).
The vote options are not correct, the teamdamage of landmines is not disabled. If enemy triggers a landmine and you are nearby, they do TD and you get killed. But it doesnt matter i think, everyone should understand what's meant :)
Anyway i like it like this, cus usually those mines are placed to stupid places by careless engies (Around flags and your own spawn for example) which is frustrating.

I'd rather mines are set off by team mates; it should teach people to be more considerate where team mates will walk.
It is harsh that engies team damage index shoots up from it but it goes up just as fast with rifle grenades I blame rambos for walking over them so let them die and whine...they should know better if they think they're leet.

this might be stupid but u cant set TD on but it wont count on the planters total TD?
a engi get kicked because to mch TD by dumb Teammates wont happen when it is off
but the realistic is out.

sry ricky but thats the fault the most have i think. nobody should be ever kicked for only a number of TD. you can have a TD from 10000 and you wont get kicked when its only from good placed mines where some stupid players jump all the time in.
when this happend in the past that you get kicked just for a number of TD our members should learn that they did a mistake because they have to spot the players and not only look at a number.

i know it not happens much but i can imagen u feel bad that someone says in the end-game that u have a 15 ''ain't got no friends award'' and peeps say u dont say sorry after They step on youre mine
well only thing u see is a flag (blue or red and its not a big flag) maybe a new skin for the mines to make them visible for the Team?

@zielobjekt: if you want 10000 td from mines you got to kill 65,7... with your mines seems pretty impossible but i get your point but there's also some players who play as engi with rifle nade, they just shoot wherever they can and have td from 3000+ just because they don't pay attention to teammates. I think at those situations a kick isn't to much asked.

it was just a number and not serious meant. thats why i said the players much be watched how they play and not only looked at the number of TD

You'll never get an optimal setting.
Its fact that this settings saves a lot of teamdamage, but gives good tool for "noob" engies, like planting mines around the flag (like Alain in Tramfight) - there is nothing better than spawn with multiple ssss sounds...
If this settings stays, this behaviour have to be prohibited

Just a point, putting mines directly around the flag is forbidden, TD on or off, we alwayz acted like this, you can t put mines on flag, if i see it the dude will have a warn/kick as i usualy do.

Hellou... I vote for yes.I mean as thought have player will be careful.Or have on server as thought someone go to mines and say he TK me.. Simply have player careful..
Its fine for me when td is off, I dont like it as much as it was before.
But is it possible to realize that engineers can defuse there own mines with ff off for landmines? Its really annoying sometimes when you want to place your mines at a other spot...

@smadje, this option is possible on ETPub, not yet on NQ if I remember right.
