The timenudge

Postby Limitbreaker » Wed Jul 30, 2008 15:33

Hello,

Today I was playing on PS1 and got warned for... Having cl_timenudge on. I don't know whether it is good or bad for real, it seemed to improve my ping by 10. I turned it on because you recommend it in your FAQ, and I don't see any no-timenudge rule in rulebook...

Explain please.

Greetings.

Well, Timenudge Only Adds Pins Visually,So u may see that ur ping is improved by 10, but that wont help u much, Also If Every1 Have Timnudge in 10-200 Then The Server May Lag Like Hell...If Every1 has It 0, Then Server Wont Lag For It. I dont Even Know Am i Right XD

I wont discuss about timenudge and if it help or no, the previous answer is pretty enough, just remember all that i don t accept the usin of timnudge in the server, so just put it to 0 and all will be fine (/cl_timenudge 0).

If it's not allowed to use timenudge (I wasn't aware of that rule) than it's maybe better not to "recommend" it in the FAQ.

This command is misunderstood by a lot of people and the way it works is a complete mystery for most people. Very basically; a positive value increases lag while a negative value decreases lag (you should only use values between -50 and 50). Try to experiment with different values and choose the setting that works best for you.

these suggestions are not valid on NQ servers???

Hihi, thx for the info but well you can also tell me more discretly in server via a little PM  .

Anyway , about the timenudge , i made my own opinion, i ve also used it in the past and honestly it stay a kind of crap and usless setting for me, so better avoid eventual problems and put all players in same and fair level. No timenudge except 0 in PS1  .
